When I was in Auckland I remember taking a trip to a Maori settlement. That was something I've never forgotten, together with the fantastic landscape. It was more like 50 years ago for me.

You need to copy the BBCode in Flickr and paste that. I've done the first one for you.

Ah, you need a spade adapter for the ER's spade ground terminal.

More M3 Motorway MiseryJust when I thought that all roadworks had been cleared away and I'd get a good commuting run to work and back, here we go again. Westbound lane closures J2-J3 and J4-J4A with 50mph limit. Eastbound lane closures J4A-J2 with 50mph limit. Apparently they're putting more breakdown laybys in because Smart Motorways were always a stupid cost-cutting idea and responsible for deaths and accidents. Another idiot politician's dream. The worst bit: completion is due in Spring 2025. So that's the rest of my working career consigned to traffic misery. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Smart_motorway

The Gone
Pretty good Ireland/New Zealand joint production and set in beautiful NZ. Police drama about the hunt for a murderer. Plenty of plot twists, gorgeous landscapes all round and very decent acting from the ensemble. It ends on a cliffhanger and the story is not predictable.

A quick update on day 7 (168 hours). I'm starting to hear that step-change that comes towards the end of burn-in where a new level of performance is revealed. As well as a very clean, transparent but still musical presentation, the sheer dynamics are now reaching above anything I have previously experienced. Also the space in the music is improved, helping to bring insight into what's going on - less busy sounding, if you like. Harshness is well down, the lowest since I moved from Spotify to Qobuz some four years ago, making almost all music sound enjoyable. The bass remains incredibly tight, textured and tuneful.
Would that all upgrades could bring this level of improvement for £1,300. I really wasn't expecting this much so it's all bonus for me.

On my way to see Alien. Never got to see it in a theater before. I still remember my reaction to that in the cinema. Visceral.

Spiritchaser is a close second to this album, in my opinion.
