I'm looking at the transport options on the Allo website but I'm confused as to which of the DigiOne Player or USBridge would be my best option. I currently use a Korus Music Server (Win10/jRiver MC24) fed via USB into a Chord Qutest DAC streaming all manner of standard and hi-def flac/dsd/dsf files. Although all the files are held on two internal SSD drives within the Korus Server, I have a 2TB NAS with all the same files on my network, so I'd guess the USBridge transport is the best option?

I've ordered two of CommScope Krone TrueNet Cat6 UUTP LSOH RJ45 Patch Leads Blue 2m 6830-2-821-07 and will let you know if they appear to be the same as the MeiCord and sound as good. Netshop were very helpful in taking my small order. Looking forward to reading your comparison thoughts Martin...

Ideally I'd like to compare it to my current digital front end in my system
Keep us in the loop with this Steve, I've been considering the same. I have a Korus Win10/MC24 server, but I've read comment elsewhere about an alleged improvement in SQ with a Pi, hence my interest

Another satisfied jRiver Media Player user here... and the latest MC24 has flac streaming of Radio Paradise which sounds fav on my Win10 server. I've tried Roon but didn't think the extra cost equated to something better than MC

There are plenty of people like me who still have large tape collections. I can't often be bothered to play them on the main system but would play them more often on something like this. How many folk do you know with large collections? I know of one, and that's only coz you 'fessed up. I've still got a large collection Chris, all from my Walkman days... sure, they're in boxes in the loft and I only keep them for sentimental reasons, but I have a decent Yamaha cassette deck just in case I feel the urge to reminisce
However, returning to the subject of this thread, if anybody feels the need to visit this [sarcastic mode on] latest advance in tape technology [sarcastic mode off] I'd recommend checking out the link below:

Nothing particularly stunning about my three (as they stand today)...
[1994] The Shawshank Redemption - first time I watched this, the twist/ending blew my mind [1968] 2001, A Space Odyssey [2014] Interstellar - plot holes'n'all

You'd be most welcome to bring your NVA gear, Paul. However, this notion that I am missing something is just smoke-and-mirrors. I am very happy with my Aurorasound VIDA phono amp, I selected it after careful listening to several components. It'll be my last phono amp as I will make no further investment in vinyl playback now. A comparison would be interesting not having heard both in a similar system. I could try and loan a BBBSU if that was acceptable and the maker will let me have it. I've also heard an Auroasound VIDA at two bake-offs and both times, they were open mouth experiences. If a Phono 2 gets anywhere close to the VIDA, at quite a cheaper price point too, then I'd seriously consider one in my own system. It would be good to hear both (and other phono stages) in comparison That aside, I'll definitely try and make this years ASBO... as long as its South/South East/South West and not too close to the WAM's Kegworth show on 17/18 March

From memory, this is some of the cdrom footage: I span my CD recently and forgot the warning on the reverse about track 1 of interactive material may "overload your speakers"... thankfully, I had the volume set low

Absolutely love this... having heard snippets of the album before it was released, I was fortunate enough to attend the World Premier at the London Planetarium where images and video was projected onto the roof whilst the album was played. Mike then mingled with the press afterwards and we were given a special film canister cased copy of the album. Its worth a small fortune these days, but my copy was sold years ago... but hey-ho. I've since purchased it on reissue vinyl and its one of the most played slabs of the black stuff I have... so 10/10 for me

+1 for Dropbox for me too... but iCloud from Apple appears to be pretty reasonable, from £0.59 a month for 50GB through to £6.99 a month for 2TB
