Will then look at Sky Q for 4K. You need Sky Q, I have it and it’s a big upgrade over Sky HD.

Maybe, but it's stupid expensive unless I can customise it. I don't want all sports channels, I don't want multiscreen, I don't need a 2TB box, I don't want a mini box.

Our internet bandwidth isn't really enough, but I'll investigate as the LG itself comes with WebOS so we may be able to get it working on some 4K apps. The thing is, the one channel I really want in 4K is Sky F1

It's very annoying - Amazon doesn't even have all of its Prime Video in HD let alone 4K! Felt like I was watching something from the 70's last night ...

I'm a lot less fussed on TV than audio,
Happy watching TdF on ITV4 on my Panasonic 50" Plasma via Tivo and Scart, so I can chase it and jump the ads. SD and pretty good too 12' from TV Will try the quality on the TV direct and upping the Tivo quality from High to Best as I have room on the HD.

LG TV has arrived. The installer is coming on Tuesday, I hope for a good buried cables solution and some outstanding pictures. I'll also be able to rebuild the AV system based on a Caiman-II, Sony amp and Wharfedale speakers. I can't wait to get rid of the shitty old TV sound.

I like my TV on its own (small) stand and then on a solid stand/piece of furniture
Imagine the bigger TVs don't have that option now

Your Panasonic is from the same range as our 42" one. Great picture, shit sound.
I think most TVs still come with a stand.

Never listen to TV speakers. 1p for a million doesn't buy great quality Surprised the latest big TVs come with a stand

Out of interest, Martin, are you thinking of factoring in any sort of redundancy with your buried cables?

I have never really been into the latest and biggest in TV. I don't like moving my eyes left to right when watching the screen. Got a 32" Sony on the wall in the bedroom and a 46" Sony in the dining room for visitors to watch or the kids to play their games consoles on. I gave away the TV we had in the sitting room so that it would no longer be a distraction in any conversation.

It's Murphy's Law, Martin. If you install a "spare" the original will never fail. If you don't...
