..and then we washed both cars as they were filthy!
Pleasing but they'll be filthy again by the end of the week.

Took the boss for a hospital check yesterday Her car *just* started - phew
Picking her up later I decided to give my car a run. Car says "No"

Washing won't be happening any time soon

The trouble with having white cars parked under trees is that leaves fall on them, then it rains and leaves nasty brown stains on the paintwork.
Not to mention the albatrosses that take a dump over them.

I'm not sure if it has already been discussed here the idea of finding as large a tarp or blanket as you can find and just piling as many of the leaves onto that blanket and dragging it to a location to dump.
Edit: ok it has been discussed I see. I can say that the tarp drags 4 or 5 bag fulls. Which is great. But I guess only if there's a compost heap fairly nearby.

Yes, we use a cubic metre rubble bag to put leaves in. If we fill it and they're wet then it's quite an effort to drag it along. We either take it to the forest across the lane or to our bonfire and burn it.

Hmmm. Ok put in the bag that means that leaves are piled on top of each other which what makes it such a difficult load to drag right?
On the tarp they never pile on top of each other much because they just spread out over the tarp and then it feels weightless to drag it.

A tarp is another of my options.
Hoping to have only a short ish distance to rake the leaves to various areas but thinking on there are a lot not so close to the compo heap, where they are going, so that could be a winner

We're surrounded by oak trees. Autumn leaves are absolutely the worst aspect of living in this lovely area (Forest of Dean). It's not called a forest for nothing.
This autumn's cunning plan is to let all the leaves come down, then collect them up. Somehow. I'm hoping for a few completely dry days. The snow shovel idea sounds promising, followed by a lawn mower run. Fingers crossed.

Those two snow shovels we bought years ago have paid for themselves many times over.

Thought I could be done with the leaves in December.
No chance.
Jan or Feb at a guess

Errr. It still lies in my future.
Actually, I did clear the drive entrance with a snow shovel and that worked well.

This afternoon I noticed the patch I cleared yesterday has a smattering of leaves already
Worse The patch I cleared this morning also has a smattering of leaves
Looking up I see there are still more leaves to fall.

Confession time
Raking leaves this morning first thing I found myself enjoying raking and carting leaves to the compost
Dogs barking to go inside stopped that as 7.15am is too early for those noises
