Very nice Rich. What do you think of the Mojo cd? I haven't played my copy yet. I thought it pretty good for a freebie. I used to buy Mojo every month but stopped a few years ago. The CD was sufficient to tempt me to splurge on a copy as it promised tracks by the Meat Puppets, Gun Club and Devon Sproule.

My latest crush, a lovely Arcam FMJ CD17. Built like a tank, nice hefty power supply, tends towards warmer sounding but I'm very happy with it...

Was my pleasure to help out lighting their gig with some of my gear last Friday. Also supported by another excellent local band 'Behold a Pale Horse' Managed to get an appropriate psychedelic vibe going.

Some pics from the venue. As you can see it is huge so we'll be making use of screens and room dividers on the day to break up some of the enormous spaces into a couple of listening areas with a separate area for chatting/socialising and a some bring n buy tables. Again, a quick reminder that NEBO 8 takes place on Saturday 6th May at St George Hotel, Durham Tees Valley Airport. Onsite accommodation is £40, parking is free, food n drink available from the bar. 10am to late. Please contact me if you'd like to attend and say what you'd be up for bringing along. Thanks Also I'll be asking for a £10 donation towards the venue hire with any excess of funds going to a charity which will be chosen by a draw on the day.

Benny - named after TC's sidekick. Very loveable but not the sharpest tool in the shed. Jess - Evil queen of the house. Unlike the other she is crafty and smart. After losing both our old tabbies last year these came from the shelter in January and have settled in nicely.

When Amazon was primarily a book and CD retailer many predicted it wouldn't survive, when it became a one stop shop for pretty much anything it became profitable. Spotify will need to do the same I think, to sell tickets, merchandise and physical product and 'experiences' which connect bands with audiences. It already knows who listens to what and being able to target fans directly will be highly valuable to the music industry I think. Good point. And coincidentally, it was only yesterday that I first noticed some items offered for sale at the top of a Spotify search list I had just invoked!! You aren't a business consultant for Spot are you, Rich? Nope but I am available if they want to make me an offer. My current profession in public sector HR becomes increasingly thankless and depressing by the day.

Was over in the Netherlands a few years ago with a bunch of Geordie lads on a stag do. We went to a rather fine steak restaurants and when the waiter asked one of the lads 'how would you like your steak sir?'
'with f**kin chips of course!', came the straight faced reply from one of my less well travelled companions. I couldn't stop laughing at that all night. Daft bugger.

Been in that London all day so best I could do was a bunch of flowers from m&s at King's Cross.
Still, she was happy I'd remembered. We never make a big deal of it.

Looking forward to it Rich. Yes. I've a feeling it's going to be a good one. Some cracking kit, good people, dodgy 'specialist music' in abundance.

Thanks John, I'm pretty cock-a-hoop with the new venue. We'll be trying to drown out the aircraft lol.
DTV is a very small regional airport so flights are pretty infrequent and usually far fewer by the evening time.

Please note new venue. Right, so we're back on... And with a new venue too and by heck I think it's a corker! NEBO 8 will take place on Saturday 6th May at the St George Hotel near Durham Tees Valley Airport (opposite it in fact). Details here www.stgeorgehotel.net/We will have the large function room for the full day so loads of space to set up, food and drinks are available from the bar and reasonable. There is plenty of parking right at the front of the hotel. There will be some limited teas and coffees for the early arrivals. I'll be getting there for 10am to start setting up, feel free to join me and help. The hotel is offering a guest rate of £39 b&b for attendees, mention the HiFi meeting booked by Rich when speaking to them. The hotel is well located for access from the A1 and A19 motorways. As I hope you'll all agreed this is an excellent venue for us, I will be requesting a donation of a £10 a man towards the costs, in the event we have an excess of funds, these will be donated to charity. Look forward to seeing you all there. R

No longer required as I dont have biwire speakers nor require this length any more. Fab sounding speaker cable, great bass depth. Made up for biwire by NVA at additional cost. At the speaker end the cable is split into a fat leg for LF and thinner leg for HF. The only time I've heard a big difference biwiring was with this cable. Did I mention the bass. Selling for £175, which is about half current new price with the biwire mod. Delivery will cost £10 more. Collection from me in Gateshead, Tyne & Wear is always welcomed. The amp end. One of the speaker ends.

Cambridge Audio DVD53 - CD/DVD player. Was donated by a mate who doesn't want it back. Works fine but no remote control. W Audio DA500 Pro Power Amp - Old gear from my band we used to power vocal monitors with, 500watts. Sadly one channel has gone, probably a dry joint as hadn't been used in years. Didn't pay a lot for it so it can go for nowt if anyone wants a crack at fixing it. We have better PA now. (cat not included) Collection only from me in Gateshead, Tyne & Wear.

The CXC is performing well, still running it in.
Thing is though, I've upgraded my baffles recently, so the new and improved sound is a combination of two upgrades.
As an aside, those Denon monoblocks you have, how do you like them. Many (too many ) years ago I really lusted after a pair of those, but finances dictated otherwise.
I was over at Alan's listening to his system yesterday and they are stunning both visually and powerful. Beautiful sounding system and a bit of the green eyed monster from me as I also love this kit.
