I tested a Cu mat. Was very good. Best I'd ever tried.
I then found the Pioneer PL-71 (vintage 70s deck) mat was just as good! I did multiple tests between the two on a couple of turnables.
It's a composite of some description. Harder near the top, slightly more compliant nearer the base.
Never thought to change.
Back then you could buy a whole PL-71 for the price of the Cu mat..
Not a bad deck the PL-71 once the switches and caps were renewed.
The arm, a good Acos well made, similar to the Rega R200 (the arm they made the Planar 2 & 3). It could just about handle a SPU.
Reckon it was the arm and mat that made the PL-71 sound decent.

The hoop bending project nears it's end. Wooden frame made from pressure treated timber. The corner triangles are double thickness and drilled to receive the hoop posts. Expanding Urethane foam glue is great! The centre bar is glued / stout wire wrapped on. Apparently you can never have enough polytunnels! So the gardener tells me 🙂 These mini ones are just right for the garden size and manageable. Hinged so they can be opened. I've got to make the prop legs, so it can be ajar, and I fit a rope to allow wider / full opening. Also a means of lashing them shut during the winter or summer storms. We'll wait with the sheeting until what's growing there now has gone over. That is stapled on and then a further strip of pressure treated timber screwed on.

www.svt.se/nyheter/forskare-at-annu-mer-frukt(Hit translate) Heard this on Swedish radio today - British researchers.. I've felt much better since eating 2 to 3 pieces of fruit 3 times a day. A pear, orange, some grapes. A pear, couple of plums An orange, grapes and an apple. I do this mid morning and afternoon then after evening meal, but early enough to leave 12 to 14 hours no food before breakfast. I quickly rinse my teeth with mild Bi-carb solution and clean between with Te-pe interdental brush, rinse again. Fruit and tooth enamel😱 Rarer treats are mango, pineapple, occasional banana. If I feel like a sweeter snack some dates - the energy food of Novak Djokovic mid match. That does not include my blueberry and oats (or other) breakfast or meal time greens etc. I always wonder if it's what's in the new wonder food in these studies, or the fact that you'll eat less of other less good things, and pushing those out means better dietary results. Fresh fruit is hardly a wonder food though🙂

Thankfully we are coastally cool. Officially just 30°C at peak and that will drop soon. We installed ceiling fans in all the bedrooms, they are great.
Being one of pharo's lean kind, it doesn't bother me.

Well chilled the Lidl Perlenbacher 0.0% is decent. At £2.49 (I think), for 6 it decent enough! Aldi's Pilsner is okay too.
I got some 0.5% specialist ones in cans in return for stringing tennis racquets. Some were nice. Some were horrible. All manner of weird things. Grapefruit flavour was the worst! Acidic, gassy. What possesses them?!😂

Watched a very close match on the Swiss clay between Daniel Collins seeded 1, and lowky ranked Swiss wildcard player, Simona Waltert.

Not nice at all. The halo almost certainly saved his life. Yes. Here's why. Bit shocking about standard roll structure that Alfa had!

He probably forgot..
Wasn't this the whole point of Brexit? To enable the super rich to what the F they liked, away from stupid, draconian (I mean sensible),EU laws?
He once gave £1M to Labour and £14M to the Tory's. Clearly wasn't enough😀

Steve, do you think Kyrgios can use Wimbledon as a springboard to more Grand Slam finals? How is he on other surfaces? He's there or there abouts on hardcourts, esp the faster ones - Aus open for instance. He doesn't usually play much clay court at all. Too much like hard work.. But he just doesn't have the ability or desire to apply himself to really become a consistent force. If that changes he could do much better. Don't hold your breath! 🙂 At the moment the stars have to align and the right opponents be in the way, or non show, to get to the finals. Had Nadal been fully fit Kyrgios would have failed at the semi final imo. Had he somehow beaten Nadal he would have had even more taken out of him / more injury / niggle likely by the final.. Also, we didn't quite have a fully stacked Wimbledon. Early rounds either Rublev or Medvedev could take Kyrgios out easy as you like, esp on hard courts. So he will not figure that much. If the stars align etc, then yes🙂

The boys' singles final is a pretty good match.
Could be the future of tennis.
Poljicak (Cro) looks like a 35 year old rugby player! Hits a 120mph serve all day long but is down a break to slight 5'9" American Zheng. Quite a good match.
Now Poljicak is losing his rag as the 1st end looms .. learned behaviour

Reasonable final. Some good points.
Kyrgios' Lang is nothing blest his little cotton socks royal kid won't have heard already😂
But of course it lowers the tone..
He didn't go complete mental at least..
Djok kept his 5 year old daughter off court until the ceremony, perhaps for the language reason 🙂
Line judges don't stand a chance. Heaven knows why they don't automate like the US and Aus opens! Clay there is an excuse.
Hawkeye and the player has to challenge is so behind the times..

Good ladies final. Rybakina had a bit too much firepower and follow through, 1st set aside, for Ons.
At 1 set all, the men's final looks like it might degenerate into a K!ngkyrgios rant. (That was/is?, his Instagram handle btw..)

Rafa requires.
I guess the risk of making it worse…
Gobby git to the final then🙄
If he wins it, it will def have a massive asterisk by it😂
