A couple of things that might help stability depending.. Martin may have already set these when he visited? What's you opinion on these Martin? In your router 'Expert' settings, under Local Network check to see what you have for 1. Lease time - set this to 24hrs or longer if you can. 24 is max in my router that times out. It's that or Forever. I suppose it may take nearly forever for us to run out of addresses?!🙂 2. Make your Renderer address static. This ensures it will not have to re-acquire an address should it drop connection. I'm pretty sure this was what was causing the 500 error I was seeing and also the total lockups. The jury is out on the last one, but it's not happened at all since I changed this and I've really been abusing adding huge playlists and then hopping about and adding more. It will look something like this (I obliterated the characters - over paranoid I know🙂) You select the device name from the drop down list. Look for Ultrarendu... Save and exit. The blurb on static Stability: Static IPs provide a consistent and unchanging address. This is beneficial for activities that require a reliable and uninterrupted connection, such as online gaming, video conferencing, and hosting websites, and I'll add - Streaming music?

I've visited Mexico. Didn't get into the murkier side of things though🙂 Strictly www.ericsson.com/en/about-us/company-facts/ericsson-worldwide/mexicoThey don't make movies about real life😂 What got me was the sheer number of people living on the roadside. Trunk road size roads. They'd light big bonfires at night to keep warm I suppose. Also coming into land at Mexico city, you could see the pollution hanging ahead of you, yellowish colour huge cigar shaped, above the dense urban spawl. Flew right into it! Deep breath😂 We flew down to the then local offices in Saltillo. Pretty rural hotel location I remember. Back to Mexico city for a long weekend siteseeing. Pyramids were quite something. As was wormy tequila.

Compact! Do the front row listeners get a good soundstage? I like the look of those single seats. What are they? With all seats seeing both horn inner sides you hear both pretty well. It's fine for Cinema. For hifi the front sofa moves out parallel to the side wall, as does the front recliner. Can then either have a 2 seater sofa in the middle or full selfish single mode - rear sofa also to the left side wall and front recliner in the centre as near or far as you like. They are called Palermo from Furniture Maxi. Delivered very quickly. Were on sale and I got another 15% off on a discount code I just searched up on Google and used! Not quite their cheapest or most compact (they were tiny for 6'2.5" me!). Also the cheapest has bad reviews on longevity. These are perfectly comfortable for me with an airline size cushion in the small of my back and one behind head to raise slightly and dampen soundwave reflections. That's how I always sit when on all our reclining sofas. They are pretty good quality, wouldn't last forever in the lounge maybe with loads of use. But occasional use like we want won't be a problem. The leather is bonded not 'solid' or whatever word tanner would use🙂 It's tough though.

Had help from Tennis friend to get the 2nd sofa up. He came over to experience Electric Biking on the New Forest trails. Our village to The Old Station in Holmsley (Beeching killed it). It's now a thriving coffee and food stop.. we had a very nice Half caff cappuccino there. Back via Burley village. He was blown away by electric assist up the steep hills. The Home Theatre room is coming together. Marie and I are going to watch The Worlds Fastest Indian up there after sundown. I'm going to make or buy some popcorn 🍿 / drinks holders for the sofas / chair arms🙂 Painting the raised bases and fitting to the 2nd sofa to go. Already planning Wimbledon gathering with some tennis friends to watch some games up there.

Horses for courses.
-Spotify family for 6 users £19.99 -Podcasts (daughters use a lot) -Connect -Voice control on all our Sonos / Daughter's / granny's Echos -Better catalogue (for some/most) -Lyrics feature -Better search facilities -Extensive links from radio stations etc etc. -There might be more.. Oh the social, all our friends/relatives use it, and we can socialise musically thus, if we choose to.
When lossless comes, we'll see
Until then I limp on with faff Bubble or mConnect 3rd party apps, for hifi use and do all the above using SPOTIFY 😂
For our narrow field of hifi use - it's currently no contest 😏

I'm finding myself acquiring a new-found policy of "Do it now"! Aware of my age and what good years I may have left in me, my previous careful reserve and patience for things to come is slowly being replaced with a "why wait?" attitude. It's changing my thought processes and feels quite liberating. Some of the Swedish pensions (final salary/Defined Benefit) can be geared to pay out more between ages 65 -70. Same logic, live a bit more with more disposable income while you can 🙂 I have some of these. Same can be achieved with drawdown if you have sizeable Defined Contribution pots of course

Yes, the main ISPs dumb down everything they can to ease complexity and thus calls to their customer service when fiddling fingers mess the settings up.
Logic tells me that these tests and changes you might make only have an effect if you near or hit high occupancy / congestion. With enough basic grunt in the system you shouldn't be near that.

This is on LAN.
On phone, it's between B and D, as the mood takes it🙂
Can't change QoS in my router anyway.

Today I made a platform for one of the recliner chairs. This will go behind the other recliner chair that's at normal height.
7 3/4" extra height. Made of 7 3/4" x 2.5" roofing top plate timber.
The recliner is screwed securely onto it. In use it's just as stable as if the chair was directly on the floor!
We tried them one behind the other. Both reclined as we'd like to watch a movie.
Marie in the rear raised recliner reported she could see the screen just fine with me in front - also reclined to where I'd want.
This is on the right hand side of the isle. On the left there will be 2 X 2 seater reclining sofas.
Still haven't got the 2nd sofa up here yet. Needing daughter's boyfriend's muscle as it's heavy compared to the single recliner.
I measured it up though - the old driver chambers from the round mid bass horns are the right size, exactly the same height, what luck!
2 of them for the left and right hand bases will fit perfectly with an extender piece screwed on. Super strong 21mm birch plywood.
Once painted black they won't draw too much attention to themselves. I will probably make an extended plinth at the front, so you step up and then into the chair / sofa.
Fun and games!

Another nice feature is, if we hear something on Swedish Radio, they have a website where every song is posted in real time. There's a link to open in Spotify. Straight there, can add to liked songs or a playlist. No faffing typing in, copy/paste. The others (YouTube excepted here) are behind on this sort of thing I think. This is the sort of thing that matters to many people.

Just had a quite rare but fun listening session with Marie.
Using the lyrics feature that is present on a lot of songs we were able to choose some fine sing alongs and have fun 🎶🎤
Every Swedish song we tried has the lyrics (Scandi cross lingo thing). They seem to do them all.
She enjoyed it and wants to do it again.

We've been moving the Home Theatre along. Got a 65" TV on the front wall. The Danley inspired SH50s (L+R) can be moved back and forth on aluminium U channel rails. Here they are in HiFi position (fully forward). They measure and sound best for hifi about 3' from the front wall. The controlled dispersion of the Synergy horns also meant much less room damping anti reflective panelling was required. As Danley advised all that is needed is about 2' down the side wall. Being a loft room I have that and up the sloping ceiling - to taste. Current look. In Home Theatre mode the SH50s are trundled right back (they are on sliding patio door rollers), to be behind the new low level grey equipment rack. This opens up the viewing angle nicely. Currently a Sonos Beam is doing centre speaker, and it also does rear left and rear right surround. This is fed using eARC from the Screen. The Hifi is fed via the optical out. Interestingly one remote controlled both volumes! There's plenty of crash and rumble from the tapped horn subs.. It's not a true 5.2 but for the time being it's working very well. We have 6 seats, 2 X 2 seater recliners and 2 X 2 recliner chairs. The 2nd sofa is not up here yet. All will be on Teflon slider plates for ease of configuring the room from Hifi to HT. Hifi wise: I tweaked the PEQ a bit more on the hifi set up to achieve an even more coherent phase response. This time done with the MF driver phase inverted! This gave an easier fit to achieve the phase goal. No crossovers on LF or MF and a simple 4uF cap 1st order Butterworth protecting the Vitavox S2 HF. The result is a very right sounding pair of speakers. I had also played around with toe in and less toe in - before installing the trundling rails! Best position is with the rear side cabinet closer to parallel with the side wall. This gives a slight toe in. Stereo imaging is very pleasing like this. The very low distortion and low room interference of the 50degree conical horn and the Synergy single point source, combined with the phase coherent sound has taken these to a new level in HiFi I've not heard before. I've heard single driver full range speakers, and whilst they sound great on uncluttered music, give them something complex, fast multiple instruments etc and they struggle. Kick drum and room shaking bass no way.. The Synergy combines the strengths of all.

Now to the sound quality. Everything sounds vibrant and presented slightly differently to the Qobuz sound. Interesting Steve. Of course I may find that I am happy to stay with good ol' fashioned Spoti Premium. I think I just get bored with the same presentation all the time. Nice to have a change. Definitely heard things differently with Spotify, very strange.

Don't think we have a tool thread so this one is perhaps the nearest. Here's a tin of imperial taps and dies I found among my dad's tools. The tin! They don't make em like that anymore! Masses of taps and dies Don't do much Imperial threading but if I ever do 🙂

I tried Spotify recently. Ok sound quality but lacking resolution, not interested in the interface as it does exactly the same for my purposes as Bubble. Removed Spotify Connect from my Rendu again. Lol

Thought I'd try Spotify this evening. Steered Rendu to Spotify connect instead of DLNA.
I keep my playlists pretty up-to-date on both Qobuz and Spotify, so no loss there.
Listened away.
I do prefer the search and storing to playlists is more intuitive.
Using the proper app instead of Bubble Upnp or mConnect is a joy!
There's a bigger Swedish catalogue too.
Now to the sound quality.
Everything sounds vibrant and presented slightly differently to the Qobuz sound. Hard to put my finger on it.. Not sure if they've changed something since I last tried it on the big system?
