A good felt mat usually works.

Acrylic has became rather popular in recent years and is very easy to keep clean.
Whatever you buy, I recommend getting one with a label recess to make sure the record is supported properly.

I tested a Cu mat. Was very good. Best I'd ever tried.
I then found the Pioneer PL-71 (vintage 70s deck) mat was just as good! I did multiple tests between the two on a couple of turnables.
It's a composite of some description. Harder near the top, slightly more compliant nearer the base.
Never thought to change.
Back then you could buy a whole PL-71 for the price of the Cu mat..
Not a bad deck the PL-71 once the switches and caps were renewed.
The arm, a good Acos well made, similar to the Rega R200 (the arm they made the Planar 2 & 3). It could just about handle a SPU.
Reckon it was the arm and mat that made the PL-71 sound decent.

Thanks Pro-Ject do one www.project-audio.com/en/product/cork-rubber-it/Remember to ensure that you can increase the arm pillar height, if adjustable, to match the increased height of the stylus on the record with the mat to keep the correct VTA, this is often overlooked and can make a significant difference to the SQ from the cartridge. in general if the VTA is wrong then the sound will either be bass heavy(rear of arm too high), bass week and poor high frequency clarity(rear of arm too low). Some cartrtidges can be very sensitive to being setup with correct VTA, some Ortofons are examples of this, set them up right and they sound great slightly off and they can sound awful.

Just a thought, why not email Pro-Ject and ask them what they recommend for this model? It's not like they'll try to sell you some crap that'll make their turntable sound worse. I see on the site that all they recommend is a puck. It's worth 2 minutes of your time to send the email rather than spending forty-odd quid on spec. I only suggest it because the platter already has a label recess, and none of the mats from Pro-Ject (felt, cork, or leather) have.
Anyway, that's what I'd do.

I second the Achromat if you can stretch to it.

This seems to be the upgrade recommended by both reviewers, and Pro-Ject themselves. www.henleyaudio.co.uk/products/Clamp-IT19:20 on this video And I still say email Pro-Ject and ask what they suggest before chucking money at something that may not be suitable for your platter.
