Part way into my investigation into more Grounding boxes. Due to MartinT and John going on and on about how wonderful they are I decided to give them a go. 2 QA Premium Audio Ground Boxes arrived from Singapore. Plugged one into a mains socket by the system and another spade'd onto the earth block where it comes into the house and also goes to an external rod. As advised I expected them to take a while do acclimatise so was playing my many latest arrival CDs while this was happening. Listening to the music, not the boxes. Onto my album playlist, at the beginning with Bajofondo up first. Not sure I can hear much in the way of improvements, maybe sounds seems mellower half way through the track I was already playing. Maybe my imagination... Leave a bit longer. 3 days Maybe a bit better. Subtle or imagination ? 4 days I think I can hear background items more clearly, percussion clearer and note decay longer. Still subtle. You have to be *listening* 5 days Oh. Something happened to the sound. The instruments and vocals appear very separate, all in their own space. Background has come into the foreground. Top end detail has taken a step up. This is good value for money 7 days, today Playing Lemon Jelly '64 - '95 in the morning, sounds good. Mistake. Accidentally started playing it again this afternoon. Very much liked what I heard so left it on. Another step up.

I am surprised it took so long to come on song but glad you gave the grounding boxes time to settle in.

Me too. MY QA boxes fired up within 24 hours. However, very glad that they're now delivering for you.

That was a surprise
Listening today to Jeff Healey - Cover to cover and Heal my soul Sounded flat. Wondered what was going on.
Then I put on Feel This Way better. Maybe the latest mod increases the gap between not so well made and very well made albums

Two Silent Point Grounding boxes attached to the mains and maybe also a Quartz Premium to the Tivo only yesterday are making the sound better but mostly different.
Will try and find the words to describe what I'm hearing tomorrow
The gradual improvement from these just carries on...

After playing some new to the album playlist and then new to me CDs I'm back on the very well played playlist.
Gives me a much better idea of what is going on especially as I was struggling for good words.
The mid range frequencies are more to the fore. More detail and bass. More width.
Mostly the sound is like a slightly different version of the album I know

Working through the album playlist and finding not all albums are created equal. Even from the same artist. Variability when making the albums. The current one* is good example of a lot going on, now more clearly separated than before. Mid range is stronger in most but not all. More detail, particularly lead in of instruments and trail off All sorts of previously hidden mutterings going on. This from the original Coherent RTZ Grounding box with Coherent cables plus the Silent Points connected to mains on a socket and earth block and the Quartz clipped to Tivo RCA. Took some days for the newcomers to come up to speed while the Coherent was great to start with and improved with age. A to B comparisons for the newcomers not easy as my esteemed colleagues MartinT and John tell me the effect gradually goes *Songs for the End of the World - Rick Springfield music.youtube.com/playlist?list=OLAK5uy_mAG6JE4dFvyPTUZ_DDGytNy0YX53_YOqA

Took me a while to take a punt on the extra grounding boxes MartinT and John have been so happy with as I thought the Coherent was unlikely to be improved on that much Latest run through the album playlist reveals even more music courtesy of the four new grounding boxes. The Coherent RTZ is happy on the latest Black Ravioli Two of the new boxes have just one single original, old style BR. The other two sit without any supports Was quite a few days before I noticed much of a difference so I added more than one mod at a time Working on John 's time scale of 3 days I wonder about doing long term A to B comparisons to find out what makes the big difference/s

Coherent BDU cable from RTZ 3 box to TAD Pre/CD and TAD Power Amp Silent Point cable from Silent Point box onto the earth block where the power comes into the house Quartz Acoustic cable from a Silent Point box into a mains socket next to system Coherent BDU from a Quartz Acoustic box onto Tivo RCA, replacing Quartz Acoustic cable Quartz Acoustic cable from a Quartz Acoustic box into Audio Magic conditioner Sound improved, but I will detail later in a day or three when settled As per theaudiostandard.net/thread/4740/cables-grounding-boxes?page=3Background brought forward, small details revealed, more bass on some tracks, greater separation, more width in the soundstage. More fluid presentation

Back to the well known albums on my playlist I am surprised - again
The improvements are more than subtle, noticeable, not enormous but I'll take them
This has to be the grounding boxes settling in even more as nothing else has changed
Broadly everything sounds nicer, even more enjoyable to listen to. More music is being delivered More leading and trailing edge detail on instruments and vocals. Background detail has come forward More depth in the bass More width than before

Finding the same effect as John and MartinT on the system High volumes don't seem anywhere near as loud. It is like increasing the detail rather than the volume Upped Pete Shelley's XL1 up to 160 on the TAD D-1000 Mostly over 100db, peaking at 124 for a few notes Same long track now peaking at 85db so I should retain my hearing Ooh that was good. Boss next door so no volume restrictions As you were My lovely Radio Shack db meter is registering 126db with no music Bring me the equipment and I can make it go wrong

Mostly over 100db, peaking at 124 for a few notes If you were really listening at those levels, you need to look after your hearing, Mike.
