Mostly over 100db, peaking at 124 for a few notes If you were really listening at those levels, you need to look after your hearing, Mike. Wasn't planned There was an after effect Will be more circumspect in future and will check the db meter

In a completely non scientific way ... I saw a couple of Vertex AQ Jaya mains filters on Ebay and decided to have a punt Seemed to make a small improvement right away with an A / B test Now I'm going through my album playlist having a wonderful time hearing more and more detail, surprising w i d t h to the sound. Assume the grounding boxes had finished settling and this is the Vertex boxes doing good things

The grounding box and filter mods to the system have increased the gap between albums on the playlist to a surprising degree
I couldn't have predicted the good and bad, more like good and fantastic
Good, but no cigar for top rating Ry Cooder - Chavez Ravine - puzzling or I wasn't paying attention Chris Rea - God's great banana skin Chris Rea - Dancing with strangers
Fantastic. So much revealed from these Rick Smith and others - Trance soundtrack Lemon Jelly - '64-'95 Jeff Healey - Feel this Rick Springfield - Tao Pete Shelley - Homosapien
Who'd a thought it

Working through the playlist and finding more detail present. This makes it even more difficult to move these treasured albums on to the filing system
Puzzled as I didn't do anything....
Oh yes I did Latest Black Ravioli (just one) under the 4 grounding boxes, replacing the original Black Ravioli
Black magic, science fiction or other I'll take it for the improvement in sound

Made time to compare Laptop - Bluetooth vs Lenovo M10 Tablet - Bluetooth vs CD
Volume adjusting was a bit of a task Laptop to Tablet
First impressions Laptop does very well Tablet is better using LDAC CD is tops
More testing to follow
Not to self: Remember to charge the Tablet and phone. They tend to work better with a charge
<later> The CD sound is wonderful. Can't test if I'm stuck to the chair revelling in the sound and playing the complete album Wonderful Ms Pluhar

Mike, are you able to give us a system diagram? I've slightly lost track of where you're at with your system.

Need to do that. Started but didn't get far Simpler than most but has a few boxes and cables. The laptop and tablet are still only used for sampling so one box CD/DAC/Pre into power is the core of it

Back on the playlist after a couple of weeks More clarity especially on vocals
Puzzling as to what has changed, my ears ? Have the Grounding boxes settled in further ? Black Ravioli settling under the grounding boxes ?
Puzzled but definitely very happy

Both of the latter, I suspect. There seems to be a preliminary settling of grounding boxes that takes weeks, and then a kind of shorter reset whenever you move or disconnect/reconnect them. This is for the type filled with crystals and stuff.

Madness that I can happily live with I kept off the playlist for a lot longer than usual. Wondered if there would be any discernible change at all

I'm finding lots of new music, or material I haven't played in a long time, really fascinating to listen to.

I have 3 types of grounding box Latest were the Silent Point and Quartz Acoustic Anyone compared them directly - MartinT or John ? The Coherent RTZ3 has multiple connections so comparisons there could be difficult at least maybe impossible One of the Silent Points is clipped to the earth block in the kitchen diner - where the 2nd system resides I wondered if that system had improved in sound quality and was pleasantly surprised when the boss suggested it was sounding better !! What would be the effect of another or more around the house ....?

Not directly, no.
Being my largest, the Silent Point is in the electrical cupboard on the incoming mains earth (bonded to neutral). I have a QA on the smaller regenerator and an Aucharm XL on the larger one.
It's almost impossible to compare them directly because of the amount of settling time as soon as you disturb one. They all seem good.

I have a QA on the smaller regenerator and an Aucharm XL on the larger one. Oops, I got that the wrong way round. The QA is on the larger (P10) regenerator, the Aucharm XL on the smaller one (P3).
