It was a great match. She never seemed to show the pressure she was under. Superb performance from both of them.

It was the quality of play of both of them that was astonishing. A new generation has arrived.

A new generation has arrived. It certainly looks like that , nobody would have lived with either of them .

Dang, the boy Medvedev was superb!
A worthy winner - his serve was on fire for most of the match ...
Looked like the weight of history was too much for Djokovic.

SW19 starts today, could this year be the breakthrough year for new winner other than the big three who has won since god knows when, namely Djokovic, Nadal, Federer, I would love to see a Alcaraz v Djokovic final with the Spaniard coming out on top to end the sequence, if he or another player for that matter does it, then it will trigger the changing of the guards moment I feel, any thoughts?.

Thanks Martin!, that would be the choice final pairing for the aficionados of the game, there are lots of sharks circling though and does Alcaraz have the grass game yet to topple Novak?, I am most interested in this years outcome.

I see Nick Kyrgios has withdrawn, so there's nobody with much of a personality to wind the crowd and the press (and me) up. Booooooooooring. Bring back Mac, and Ilie.

Bring back Mac, and Ilie. McEnroe was very annoying at the time, whiny kid. He is a very fine commentator now, though. Nastase was truly entertaining.

NK is a total waste of space in my personal opinion. Dan Evens made an attempt at being entertaining yesterday, if you can class code violation for swearing as entertainment, keep an eye on Daniil Medvedev, as well as being a championship contender, his antics and anti Russian sentiments from fans might ignite something in him, another potential hot head is Tsitsipas, but his fire might not burn as bright now he’s all loved up with Badosa, hope he’s saved enough energy to actually play Tennis.

£4.50 for a Pepsi at the O2 but of course I didn't buy one ...
Was watching the Murray v Tsitsipas match earlier - what a high quality match. I thought that Murray was done for with an injury at the death, but he proceeded to take the set. A proper competitor.

I wonder if these prices are the going rate?, TRNSMT festival in Glasgow are charging £6.80 too for 330ml bottle of beer, anybody knows what Glastonbury were charging, seriously expensive now going to Wimbers and music festivals.
Back to Tennis, pity Andy exited, he was running on empty to be honest last night.
Alcaraz looked impressive in parts going by today’s performance against Jarry, wasn’t serving great and a bit of wobble, he needs to up his game if he’s to progress beyond the last 16.
P.s. big shout out to Nicholas Jarry giving away 4 of his rackets to young fans after losing and signing autographs, top man.

Watching a fab match just now, Jannik Sinner v Roman Safiulin….wow! even the sounds coming oit sounds like they are throwing bombs at one another, Sinner famously dumped Alcaraz on hi derrière last year so he’s a bit of a known quantity, but this new Russian is unknown quantity and going toe to toe, it’s level at a set each at the mo but it could go either way, the level of play is insane.
edit: think I’ve jinxed Safiulin since I last posted, his serve has deserted him and his game has fallen apart,
he’s looking at and shrugging his shoulders at his crew.
