My puddings have arrived, so it's Christmas. Yes, puddings, I bought four, and no they won't all get eaten over the Christmas period, they just looked too nice to resist. I've also got a bottle of Vina Araya Moscatel de Valencia coming, as I enjoyed it so much last year. That should do me for booze. I've still got four out of the six bottles of white I bought last year untouched, and loads of spirits if the mood takes me. I still haven't decided on a main course for Christmas day, but I'm leaning towards Ostrich fillet steak(s) but with some of the more traditional trimmings, like sprouts (obviously), my home-made pigs in blankets like last year, and roast potatoes Anyone else getting anything " nice" in for Christmas?

Will have to find a good rum. I've just run out of Appleton's Jamaica rum. One for my Christmas list, I think.

I lied about the booze. I've got a bottle of this coming next week. It's currently going for a tenner a bottle.

I don't know guys. That Diplomatico Rum is looking tastey. Would be great to get a bottle before Christmas to know if it's good enough for these upcoming holidays.

Just realised, I've still got about a third of a bottle of Chairman's Reserve St Lucia rum sitting in the cupboard. I've also found Malt, Brandy, Gin, flavoured Gin(s), Sherry, Glayva, Tia Maria... the list is almost bloody endless. I must take up drinking again and get some value out of it all.

Anyone else getting anything " nice" in for Christmas? Fuck off If it's any consolation, Tim, there will be no tree, no decorations, nothing at all " Christmassy" about the house. It's simply a time to treat myself to a few different culinary delights and ignore even more crap television than I do already. I aimed the post pretty much towards festive grub. It's always nice to hear about anything a bit different that other folks are eating, and drinking, and get some suggestions perhaps. As for the actual holiday, I couldn't give a toss. I'll probably play the BB King Christmas album though, and a few more Christmas albums that nobody else has ever heard of. It's almost a shame that the three Dr Who specials with David Tennant are being shown so early (Nov 25 th, Dec 2 nd & Dec 9t h) rather than over Christmas itself. The first one looks fairly childish, but the second two are promising, and Russel T Grant has stated that they're " not for kids". Disney+—the new international streaming home of Doctor Who —confirmed that Doctor Who’s next Christmas special will stream on the service on December 25, but have not confirmed whether it will be broadcast simultaneously on BBC 1. The episode, titled “The Church on Ruby Road,” will mark Ncuti Gatwa’s official debut as the 15th Doctor. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I've an open invitation to spend the holiday at my son and daughter-in-law's, but bugger that, they actually celebrate it.

We do it differently here in the states we dig a hole in the cold ground and lay in it and cry if we mention christmas too early. 🤣🤣🤣 Jfc I won't have enough money to buy presents this year, like most years. Will have a week off from work though which might be ok.

I will have two weeks off and intend to cram in as much listening as possible, together with the odd special rum or vodka, whatever takes my fancy.
Oh, and I'll be playing the Low Christmas album. RIP Mimi.

We'll probably buy a tree at the beginning of December and pop it in the attic until the week before Xmas. Then it will go up in the living room along with some other traditional decorations. The Bohemian Xmas market in Babelsberg is on for 2 weekends this year and we have friends who wish to visit and so we'll end up going twice. That is fine though as It very different from the usual markets (although I will probably resist buying a suit of armour: a flail might be hand for getting through the crowds though! - I kid you not as there is an armourer there every year). We will then have ascension of visitors from the 25th on for dinner and table-top games.

If it's like the Xmas market in Munich (Marienplatz), I can imagine a flail being very useful.
