I don't know if you venture as far as NY but Hunter Mountain is an excellent resort. I had a day of skiing there some years ago and we practically had the resort to ourselves. Loads of long runs leaving your legs like jelly by the end!

Wow looks nice. No I haven't gone that far yet but since I have every Friday off my plan is to drive on Fridays starting in late January to places within 2 or 3 hour drives to snowboard so that one looks like a fun 3.5 hour drive and then ride from noon until 5 or even night ski if they have it.
Speaking of jelly legs lol I went to Killington last June and the only trail still open was the mogul run lol. Everybody riding in tank tops and t shirts.
Moguls were brutal though. 2 runs and I was done.

LOL - Happy Christmas Paul!! Jules, as a Pastafarian, that is to say a member of the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster, I'm sorta unable to accept your wish, but, hey, who cares, matey? I'm chill with your misguided belief in your invisible friend in the sky. We Pastafarians celebrate a vaguely defined holiday named "Holiday," around the time of Christmas, Hanukkah, and Kwanzaa, etc., but in Pastafarianism every Friday is a Religious Holiday. Holiday does not take place on a specific date so much as it is the Holiday season, itself. We also believe we will find the Beer Volcano in the afterlife. player.vimeo.com/video/31543194

I've sorted out a list of what looks half-decent to watch over Christmas. Christmas Eve: 10pm - Lot No 249 (This year's ghost story from Mark Gatiss). Christmas Day: 5.55pm - Dr Who "The Church On Ruby Road". December 27: 9pm - Murder is Easy (This year's two-part Christmas Agatha Christie mystery) . . . . . . New Year's Day: 9pm - The Tourist, season two starts Yeah, I think that's about it.

I'll take The Tourist out of that lot.
We'll probably be playing board games, not watching TV.

Christmas needs Agatha Christie in our home. To work out who murdered the turkey?

...it's usually the sprouts that are murdered.

Apparently, Slade rake in £500,000 a year with their contribution. Never seen this before. Must have been on a tight budget if the ghosts are anything to go by:

I've just had my "normal" Saturday grocery delivery, with a "few" extra bit and pieces for Christmas, and it's all packed away. so that's me sorted for Monday, and the rest of next month week.
As an aside, if anyone wants any dry stone walling work done, I seem to have mastered the technique inside my fridge.

I've just realised what I forgot to order; something for dinner tonight, and tomorrow. Oh well, the freezer will get raided earlier than I planned.

Christmas has a different delivery in New Zealand
Coincides with summer holidays. Lots of manufacturing closes down until the middle of January. Govt departments kind of shut to mid/late January. And schools closed. We have many taking their summer holiday four week break.
So different to the Northern Hemisphere.
Our place has a pine Christmas tree with lots of decorations and lights everywhere. Daughters over. Son in law cooking buttermilk chicken and pumpkin pie- he’s from Chicago. Another daughter is bringing her boyfriend over; poor guy. Grandson (3 years old) is very excited. Maybe watch Die Hard tonight. Then Christmas lunch tomorrow. Crap weather so no barbecue this year. Plenty of salads. Ham from the butcher. Eldest daughter likes Asian food, so some form of chicken and noodles. Bugger. Forgot to get the mussels. 93 year old mother in law making her triffle. Strawberries and ice cream.
Since I don’t drink any more, they can sort their own alcohol.
