Too late now, but I could have told you that Virgin are one of the worst service providers out there. I got rid of them at work some time ago.
One benefit of using 4G+ mobile data as a service into my TP-Link router is that my network is effectively detached from the provider: just swapping the SIM would be all that is required.
In the main house, it's also 4G+ from Three with BT wi-fi mesh discs doing the distribution, so again no changes to my network if the service provider is ever changed.

Well it is early days now and the system is working fine with decent speeds . I had looked at Three 4G but as others in the house stream 4K materialise often it is just not quick enough . Plus despite being in the city our house which is midway on a hill has very patchy mobile coverage . I have to be honest that from the start coverage and service has always been fine and only the days around change over having issues . Providing Virgin just works then I am happy will see what happens after the new cable is installed after 18th April .

It's the reverse for us, we were getting only 14Mbps on a bad day over the landline. I've just done a speedtest with Three and it's showing 143Mbps but with peaks at over 200Mbps. That's what happens when you're in the country.

Nearly forgot there has been another direct change in my system . I have been using an NVA s300 power amp to drive the Quads for quite some time . However about 9 months ago I picked up a used Aurex SC-M15 Power Amplifier which sound very good but not really better . About four months ago a second Aurex cam up at a very sensible price and this unit has a Balanced Transformerless mono mode which doubles the output . For various reasons as well as me being lazy I just had these stored and had not got them inserted in to the main system . A visit by a friend prompted me too give it a try and I have to say they are very impressive . Used as a mono pair the quiet when switched on with nothing playing is very good indeed . The music is I think slightly better than the NVA and they are staying at the moment . I do have issues though which I need to address in that the Aurex are fitted with a very sensitive speaker protection circuit which if the volume goes up too much cuts out then reconnects . I should be able to fir a pair of OTA ESL 57 Widgets which will solve this and I am looking around to find some used ones first before I buy a brand new pair .

I should be able to fir a pair of OTA ESL 57 Widgets which will solve this and I am looking around to find some used ones first before I buy a brand new pair . I saw on another forum you were after a pair of OTA 57 "Widgets" could not help re sourcing a pair, as I have said before if they are the early type unscrew the 4 tiny screws of the boxes & solder some decent cable to the 2 thin wires that protruding through the black mastic/resin. Whether the later "Widgets" need better wiring I do not know. Though my 4 X KT120 Rogue Atlas Magnum is ok with the strange 57 load, the late Steven(Steve) Williams who was OTA suggested their use in a phone conversation that they apparently remove a bass hump and a treble anomaly as well as help solid state amps with the load. He actually sent me a pair unrequested when I said I had not paid, he said he trusted me, as there was an inexpensive improvement I thanked him & paid for them. I found in my room with my system initially not to much happened slightly better bass & a slight improvement in the top end, I made & fitted TNT UBYTE 2 cross connected coax speaker cable replacing a single coax cable as suggested by Roger Sanders; I then tried the "Widget" rewire, in my case with 9 strands of OFC Nordost gold stripped of its outer insulation the 9 strands held together with 10" of shrink wrap, then yes all of the bass hump was removed & the mids/treble were much improved more natural sounding & expansive. I have tried with & without since for me with is much preferable. Though unlike a single length of coax cable UBYTE 2 works well with cone speakers. Just thought I would post this because it shows a little about how our mood can change what we hear . Today is the first day this year that the sun has been out and it has been warm enough for me to have my breakfast in the garden . My music room back on to the garden and my Quads are postoperative side of my French Windows in to the garden . Now as Quads are dipoles openings doors and the music pours introverts I am sitting . No it is not perfect positioning and will not sound like sitting in front of the Quads but given the sun a great cup of tea and some cereal , Cerys on Six Music playing Orchestra Boabab it is frankly delightful . Work on my tan , hear a new band to me Niteworks and Switch to a Gun and Tonic later and there is a large grin which seems impossible to wipe from my face . I know many here are working so hard at attaining the perfect sound for them and long may that continue , but we all need to remember that less than perfect can be wonderful in the right circumstances .
