Recently I have been playing with speaker cables to try and improve the last piece in the chain.
I run a set of 1m cables in a single run configuration. I have tried the following, some I bought, some I already had and some I got sent. Cable talk 3,1 Cable talk 3 QED SIlver Anniversary Rega FSC Quattro Van Damme 2.5mm tour Van Damme 6mm studio Graham Slee Spatia
I am happy with the sound of the Rega Quattro which to my ears is very similar to the Van Damme 2.5 and the Cable Talk 3. The Van Damme 6mm studio seems to have more prescience in the lower registers.
However, the Graham Slee Spatia seems to have a much bigger soundstage than the other cables I have tried. I tried some blind back to back testing with the two van damme cables and the Spatia, and to my mates astonishment I could tell him what cable was fitted.
What cables can you recommend for about £200 a stereo pair that will give a balanced sound, with a wide soundstage. The cheaper the better, as long as they sound good!

NVA LS6 is good value for money, LS7 is as good as TQ UB for less money.

Unfortunately, NVA is out of the question as I don't see eye to eye with the owner. I have heard it's a great cable, but it's very unlikely I will hear it soon.

You've already tried Van Damme by the looks of it. I use Van Damme Blue 4mm and I find it to be a perfectly good and neutral cable at a sensible price.

I use Talk 3 bought from RFC - I believe this cable is a later incarnation of Cable Talk. It's reasonably priced (just over £60 delivered for a 2.5M pair back then) and the Z plugs fit very nicely. I can't find a reason to fault it so haven't been motivated to do much of a comparison ...

Thanks gents. I have the Talk 3. It seems to lack a bit of low end grunt compared to the VD 6mm.

He won't post to France. Well I know for a fact he has sold equipment to France in the past.

Braided Cat 5 ethernet cable, bettered TQ Black in my system, made it sound coloured. Careful with using Cat5, Gaz, it could make an amp unstable.
Also, TQ Black is not at all the same as TQ Ultra Black, for the sake of clarity.
