Hello Matt
Currently I use the aurender N20 as the daily driver and that is genuinely a very decent digital transport. I also have owned the Taiko reference streaming transport that is real uber detail/ king Kong chest thumping slam plus its quiet
Way to uber-fi Chronosonics/Magivo M9's for me I am a real music loving immersive three dimensionally complete fuild sounding reproduction with total involvement.
Having a 45 foot Joni Mitchell wailing at me while analysing the nth degree of tambourine placement 33 rows back and 18.97 degrees south west of third microphone placement from her left toe doesn't wash with me sorry.
Well it's only two hours in and I'm deliberately listening at half past whisper o'clock and it's rather special everywhere Matt

That sounds promising so far Tony. The Taiko is certainly a work of art.

I have improved a couple of them for discerning listener's over the years. The N30 has the texture and naturalness which is just so believable. The new antipodes k50 replacement isn't bad either

The Aurender N30SE has now been running for four days solid with the sweep file, all I can say its uber additive to listen to, difficult to just pop top the loo! New support system will here in a few weeks in time for speakers running in to be finished, in the mean time I have sourced some of the connectors on the N30SE and will make some Tony cabling for the umbilicals. Fuses here are very, very particular and you can make or break the sound quite markedly if you disappear down that rabbit hole!

Impressive kit Tony. If you take the lid off, could you post a few pictures please? Curious to know what it looks like inside.

Hello Matt
I can show a simular single box version, this is before I started on an updating programme for a chap in the EU.
Note the four UPS back capacitors which is invaulable with any brown outs, also the double isolated and insulated RJ45 socket, some nice features in their Matt

Thanks Tony. It looks like a lot of effort went into the design and everything is segregated.

The Aurender equipment is very well thought out and implimented, that model is the N20 imho a real star, the 30SA has two boxes and segregation for power / digital /clocks /signals etc. Nothing new in itself, however all togther with other propriatory ideas in a single package, now that is very new!

Some recent changes to the Big W system, apart from the mountain of work we are currently engaged with, I have found a few hours to install a few updates, a new cable design for digital & internet signals have been 'approved' lol. New speakers have finially appeared after a very long lead time, fit and finish on these units is exemplory nothing less, as for the sound even now also a new amplifier or two has been gracing the Big W listening enviroment, today the track audio isolation devices have been installed. So it's all coming together now after careful planning. More in the coming weeks....

Tony, are the TAD speakers made in the same way as the Ushers, a kind of heat + pressure fold, or in some other way?

Nice little TAD system here Matt..... I believe so Mike. I’ve become a fan of active speakers, but do miss having a big pair of speakers and a big amp to drive them.

but do miss having a big pair of speakers and a big amp to drive them. That is one thing I could not do without. A sense of scale can only be achieved with big speakers and a big amp.

You’re right and this is where I found good active speakers to work well as they control the drivers perfectly. Having owned a few different PMC’s, with the biggest being IB1’s, I found they sound at least a size larger than their dimensions would have you believe. This is where the AML1’s work well for me. They are relatively small studio monitors, but play with bass and scale equal to far bigger speakers. It’s a compromise I can happily live with until the time comes to be able to get big speakers again.
