Always good to read your posts Tony, you really do push the boundaries, even though it's above my head a bit.
I'm sure there will be new discoveries as tec advances, and l am guessing, you'll be at the Zenith of this new dawn.

Yet again time is hurtling away at FTL speeds, its nearly September for crying out loud, the workshop & sales have been busy over the summer (lol) months plus I'm working on some interesting new projects: One IoT wearable medical tech plus some new 5/6G communication devices which do require quite significant investment to enable you to obtain accurate. repeatable high bandwidth abilities IE over 25Ghz . Have restored some really nice older equipment recently including a rather nice Akai 2350 (which in fairness looks like it had just left the factory before we had the privilege of working on it) who says you need gazillons of watts to sound good! More lab updates and internal restructuring, new to chez Coherent towers a really neat time saving piece of test equipment a Keysight N6705C DC power analyser which is in effect four instruments in one neat package an DVM digital volt meter / Arbitrary wave form generator this allows you to design your own wave forms to simulate various load/ start up and power draw changes within a devices power/ load state change and power down cycles / Data logging which allows you to monitor the device under test performance over a given time period then go back and analyser the data at a later time very handy for references / Oscilloscope mode which allows wave form visual read out in the time Vs voltage domain. The device has four modular slots which allows up to 4 individual power supplies to be fitted, or DC electronic load modules as well. It can even accommodate a SMU (source / measure unit which can source and sink current in one module) so really 6 instruments. Images to follow next week once I've install a wraparound curved 34inch 4K monitor and rejigged the main lab bench (again) As mentioned before due to the upcoming projects it has been necessary to bite the bullet; so I have been negotiating for one these measurement power houses, as I'm fresh out of kidneys and like to keep my sound system (lol) robbing banks these days is a bit old hat, seems that digital white collar crime is in vogue (lol) not that I wouldn't know WTF to start Anway in the not-too-distant future one of these world class signal analysers’ will be finding its way to the lab, have measured up and worked out its location (lol) not much I can't dig out of the so-called digital mud with this wee beastie.

It's been seriously busy today, way too much desk jockeying for my tastes One small bonus though the test equipment fairy been, the lass must have strong wings

Ok, inbetween the bouts of soldering iron twirling, diagnostic work and large amplifier disection I finially managed to fit the new power & sink modules to my new bench toy. Slight issue is that the DC load can handle 40 amps and the front panel bindings are 'only' rated for 20 amps so I fabicated a new dual loom that exits from the rear of the analyser plus a pair of sense wire (fully sheilded) for extra precision measurements. Also got to try out the new Pathwave power analyser software, it's rather natty including a scope view/datalogger and arb generator for designing ramp up on / down waveforms for testing swicth on and on's currents etc. This is going to save a lot of timing when designs power/communications and IoT circuits in the comming months. Below I am testing out a power supply for a LB clock, note the four wire sense connections for utimate accuarcy. Second image is of the data logger.

Oh well, they was me thinking I've covered all of the test equipment angles and that settling back to pulling audio equipment apart, when Teledyne Lecroy spring this beastie on me, it's just not fair!!!!
Well Teledyne Lecroy have been beavering away behind the scenes for a wee while now and have just unleased this absolute monster on the market
The worlds ONLY 12 bit big gig (hz) lol scope with some dizzing numbers.
Somehow I feel my two kidneys arn't quite going to cut for one of these. hummmmmmmmmmm

For me its 320 Billion samples a second that is more desirable utter BS free asbolute accuaracy

I think the only things I understand about the above scope are that it has a 15.6" colour 1920 x 1080 screen, it runs on Win10, and I'd guess we're talking around six figures to play with the most expensive PC you're ever likely to buy. I bet it doesn't even run games.

still 100mS @full bandwidth and sample rate a mere 8Gpts in storage.
I feela 20Ghz model BW model will be nearer the mark for ourselves, just a small case of funding it

Well, you remember when you were kid and you had the 'Wow' moment; while not being that old in the early 70's lots of things seemed wonderous, Mr Whippy ice cream/toffee apple vans on a Sunday lunchtime/Monty Python and seeing the elevator cars emerging from pod 3 on Thunderbird 2 to save Fireflash on the first every episode of Trapped in the sky. I saw this on the second showings in the early 1970's lol. So, what's all this got to do with audio replay in the 21st century I hear you snigger? Some of you may be aware I do occasionally repair amplifiers from time to time (someone has to do it lol) While being large framed fellow who's not un ad versed to moving large items about some of the amplifiers we receive to rectify can be a touch on the hefty side and more than one of two are well north of 50Kg's. Working on them can prove challenging so in the past I've constructed one fo two moveable tables with varying degrees of success, but none really totally satisfactory. Enter Mr Gerry Anderson, what if I could find a small, but very mobile trolley capable of handling up to 200Kg (less really) that can easily be maneuverer around, BUT also have the ability to increase the hight of the table etc to at least waist height or slightly above to say 1m? Well here we go folks the lab door will have to suffice for the pod 3's outlet however what do think about this? I am welding up a small platform with a rotating platform that will handle the 200Kg which you can place on the top as well. This one has turned out so well I've ordered a few more as we have a glut of porky US iron to make good in the coming weeks, so simple yet just so good.
Thank you, Brains!

Is this Soulution any better, Tony? I haven't heard one sound really good yet and seem to remember you weren't too sure?
