Thanks. I wasn’t aware of Audiostore.
I see you went all in on 2 power supplies, as opposed to using the dual outputs off one.

Sure did. On the advice of young MartinTNow I have to work on separating the very front end from the rest of the system

I see you went all in on 2 power supplies, as opposed to using the dual outputs off one. Mike is powering his EtherREGEN ("dirty side") and external clock for it ("clean side"). If you use the same power supply for both, you will short the isolation moat and negate its effectiveness. The only way to do this is to use a power supply with completely isolated outputs and no common ground, and these are rare.

When I switched away from the Uptone UltraCap PSU to the Ferrum Hypsos it made quite an impact as well. Maybe even more than adding the external clock. The PhoenixNET still bettered them though.

The PhoenixNET still bettered them though. From what I've read of the technical specifications, the EtherREGEN Gen 2 may win back the lead or at least even them out. It will certainly push the boundary of what John Swenson can achieve with available components.

I’m amazed at what is possible when streaming. These switch, power supply and Ethernet tweaks are bringing huge gains. I used to think fuses and mains cables made a big difference, but they are small in comparison.

I liked the Innuos philosophy though, and not needing the external clock was attractive as the PhoenixNET contains a 3 ppb 25MHz OCXO oscillator that is native to ethernet.

Could I power the router with the JS-2 powering the ER as both are 'dirty' ? Yes. I do exactly that with the Coherent QP-2, which powers my ER and router.

Cool !
Have you tried it or similar ?

Isolation, footers JS-2 power supply feeding the AfterDark clock sitting on its own feet on a wooden cupboard. Unlikely to be ideal. I imagine this can be improved Christine Pluhar and L'Arpeggiata, Ciaccona Sounds ok. 4 x RDC no.5 cones with Combi bases placed under the JS-2 (The set on the left) Thought it might be better.. Certainly was Playing more deliberate, nicer sound, slower, more fluid RDC No.4 2 part cones replacing the other More separation, more decay in notes and entry, more joined up, width Black Ravioli - big pads older style More width, separation, more mid range brought forward, clearer, more natural, richer The RDC products are fantastic value for money. The ones to go for if Black Ravioli is a stretch Playing the whole album now, that wasn't the plan More to come...

The big RDC Cones work very well indeed supporting my 6-pillar system rack as they can take the weight.

RDC 4 cones apparently use "small dots of sorbothane" as part of their tech. That made me smile.

Gnodal SFP+ 10 gigabit Ethernet Cable, 2 metres arrived today
For once I was able to plug it in right away
Playing Jerry Goodman's Outcast Islands from On the future of Aviation so kept that as my test track - and a second time to confirm. No. Have to give up as I'm much more familiar with the live version
Mavis - Eyes on the prize Once, twice, swap cable From cold More relaxed more detail, more midrange background brought forward, more lead in and trail, touch more bass, more joined up, solid sound. Really ? I was mostly after the drop in EtherRegen temperature.
Oh goodie
Back to our Jerry Aaawhat ? So much more space and fine detail
This sounds good

Random problems are back after months of working fine
Couple of days back music stopped in the middle of a track. Reload didn't work, neither did exit Bubble or reboot tablet Rebooting the Rendu brought the music back Happened another couple of times, Rendu rebooted and back
Today glitching. Gave up
Amazon Firestick still giving problems before all of this and continuing
Suspect Three changed a setting or two as websites previously not available were all good and accessible
Tried again just now and all back 26Mbps download after no connection

I think it's time you moved out of the Bermuda Triangle, Mike, and got a house somewhere more "normal". I understand that there are several reasonably priced properties adjacent to Area 51...

Yesterday our main house feed (also Three) was as slow as treacle and unusable for a short while. Co-incidence? It's rare to play up like that.
