In a logical sequence from router to Rendu
Super cheap UGREEN Ethernet Cable Cat 7
DXE Iso in between
Three lengths of Ugreen - DXE Iso - Ugreen - DXE Iso - Ugreen connecting router to adaptor
As the Ugreen has a metal end I moved the QA Premium grounding box from the lighting circuit to croc clip at the Router end.
QA Premium has been sat on the TP Link router for some time already
EtherRegen replacing the previous adaptor
QA Premium grounding box from the earth block in the kitchen onto the EtherRegen
After Dark clock, Tubulus cable connecting to EtherRegen
Upgrade to Rendu
All made good or very good improvements

All wonderful Kissing the Pink giving more clarity, detail, space, width, bass Which bit did the business ? No idea. MartinT had most of this in place before his Rendu upgrade and raves about that so maybe that... Difficult to believe I could own a system sounding this good. |

Can Black Ravioli add to the recent improvements ?
With my experience of tech and not expecting the AfterDark to work straight out of the box (for me) I was taken by surprise when it just worked, and how very good it sounded
Everything just placed together on the Creaktiv rack shelf

Sounds very good
Just one Black Ravioli under the QA grounding box, balanced very well
That should not make so much difference
Mad, that is a step up
BR under the EtherRegen
Much the same
BR under the AfterDark clock
Much the same again
3 granite placemats on top of the AfterDark
Almost as much difference
Just so very clear and sharp, smooth, such increased detail
This is a great test track, violin, bowed and pizzicato, drums mixed well up
Really great live recording

Man - Bananas from Be good to yourself once a day
So much 'louder' than when I left it before the tweaks

Streaming on the cheap
Quick listen last night said - Good, way better than expected.
Comparison just now on Tarwater -Photographed - from Inside the ships
Not a perfect track to test
Rendu and associated EtherRegen, AfterDark clock, power supplies, plugged into TAD
Good
Lenovo laptop Bluetooth to Bluetooth converter plugged into TAD
Not so far out !
Far, far better than it ought to be
Analysis says thinner sound, less bass not quite so nice
Back to Rendu
Better sound for sure but - on this track ! - not a world away
Qobuz for this test
Will test again on a track I know well
Meanwhile Bluetooth is a fantastic stop gap to start anyone off with limited budget
