A couple of things that might help stability depending.. Martin may have already set these when he visited? What's you opinion on these Martin? In your router 'Expert' settings, under Local Network check to see what you have for 1. Lease time - set this to 24hrs or longer if you can. 24 is max in my router that times out. It's that or Forever. I suppose it may take nearly forever for us to run out of addresses?!🙂 2. Make your Renderer address static. This ensures it will not have to re-acquire an address should it drop connection. I'm pretty sure this was what was causing the 500 error I was seeing and also the total lockups. The jury is out on the last one, but it's not happened at all since I changed this and I've really been abusing adding huge playlists and then hopping about and adding more. It will look something like this (I obliterated the characters - over paranoid I know🙂) You select the device name from the drop down list. Look for Ultrarendu... Save and exit. The blurb on static Stability: Static IPs provide a consistent and unchanging address. This is beneficial for activities that require a reliable and uninterrupted connection, such as online gaming, video conferencing, and hosting websites, and I'll add - Streaming music?

I didn't set Mike for static IP only because it would be one more thing for him to remember whenever he has to setup again.
DHCP with a lease of a day or more is fine with such networks, although frequent drops are what I think is causing these issues.

Bearing in mind what happened above when all I did was turn the router off then on I was very careful with this. Courtesy of Mr. petea I am working through Man albums and currently at Back into the future Courtesy of MartinT the following sequence Rendu shut down, EtherRegen off ER switched to EXT AfterDark clock in with Tubulus cable Connect cables AfterDark on, ER on, then Rendu. Patience is a virtue. Few minutes later ..... Works ! What ?! A night in Dad's Bag is the track I happened to be on before, back to it ... Significantly better Clarity, separation, detail, nicer, louder, more musical Want to turn up the volume I can live with this No need to move now. <Listening>

24 hours later I wondered if there might be improvement as AfterDark and Tubulus settle in A night in dad's bag again from Man. A pun on tracks ..... Improved ? Maybe. Don't know how good my 24 hour audio memory is No rush. Sounds wonderful anyway Back to the top of this current playlist with Jerry Goodman and Jan Hammer from a few days back Like Children is a wonderful album I know well That is very good. More going on the ever before <bit later> Just superb open.qobuz.com/album/0664140043022from Qobuz Violinist Jerry Goodman and keyboardist Jan Hammer away from Mahavishnu. They play all instruments (overdubbed). "Country and Eastern Music" and "Steppings Tones" were high-water marks for this new breed (at the time). Look, this isn't even set up properly as I didn't expect it all to work out of the box

Thought of the day - great music should be great music on a MW radio or a high end system.

Thought of the day - great music should be great music on a MW radio or a high end system. But, great music IS great music, be it on a MW radio or a high end system, or a crystal set with a pair of ancient ex-army headphones, if you allow it to be. The music doesn't change, no matter how it's delivered. Music only loses perceived greatness to people in relation to how far they have travelled up their own arses, hifilogically speaking. The same is true of shite music played through a £250K system. Even if you can hear the bass player scratch the end of his nose at the start of the 47th bar; it's still shite music.

Thought of the day - great music should be great music on a MW radio or a high end system. I don't disagree, but great music reproduced really well simply escalates that enjoyment. Tell me I'm wrong.

I guess what I'm getting at is that I'm suspicious of music that needs a high end system to hook you, but of course a lot more detail can be revealed, heightening your enjoyment...

Shades of grey and maybe even colours, not 100% black and white, crap album becomes great album.
Another illustration today Jan Hammer - Miami Vice Complete Collection
Was next on my Bubble playlist. Wondered if I wanted to bother for another listen. S'ok, not standout Glad I did. The improvements have taken it up a step or two Smoother, nicer to listen to.
