We're lucky, the meter is quite new and not very far down a nice clean pipe with a foam bung to protect it. I just snap a pic of it with my phone when required.
Try phone camera with and without flash. With flash at different angles to get a shot without glare.

Why I hate powder coat part 15.. Nice Pheasant weather vane.. 2.5 years old, down for removal of the worst steel weatherproof finish ever - powder coat! Once all loose is off its on with Tetrosyl - SCS010.

Thanks, Martin. The Powder Room is just a small bathroom we use when entertaining guests. Kitchen seems to work out well since it is just the two of us most of the time. Now back to more construction projects - Ha!!

Not really DIY, but today is new boiler day. We are oil-fired for heating and hot water as there is no gas here. Our barn was converted from a 100 year old cow shed about 20 years ago and, for inexplicable reasons, they used a second-hand boiler. So the boiler is 40 years old, on its last legs and with parts becoming ever more unobtainable. It wasn't going to make it through this winter.
So, today and tomorrow, an expert team are ripping it out and replacing it with a brand new Worcester Bosch Greenstar Utility. Still huge, because of the large air space, underfloor heating and number of radiators on the upper two floors. Not to mention pricy. Ah well, it had to be done and increases the value of the place when we come to sell.

Not going heatpump?
We have a Worcester Bosch Greenstar gas boiler. New in 2015.
It's been fine once it was set up right! 1st year it was down on power, annual service revealed nothing. Wouldn't pull the skin off a rice pudding! We had to ensure the heating was off (Also underfloor) when the hot water was to be heated.
We eventually got Worcester Bosch warranty engineers out as it kept needing resetting!
Turned out the installer / servicer had not been measuring the lower CO2 values! He measured the upper value and that was fine. For some reason it was set up to be too lean. Once set correctly it's been good as gold ever since.
When we need a new one it will be Heat pump time I guess. Possibly ground source.. Needless to say Sweden are a bit ahead of us on these.

No, we're not going to be here long enough to get a return on the investment.

The Worcester will give us 40-50% better efficiency than the old tub as it's a condensing type (efficiency rating A).
