Interesting stuff.
New rooms are interesting to adjust to, equipment and ears mould.
There are some bass passages I still can't recreate in my current room and miss them. Other things are much better.

Yeah I am finding myself messing with room treatments and speaker position a lot at the moment. The room is basically alien. Even after a few weeks I am not used to it. Got a whole load of ear wax in my left ear so I can't bloody hear anyway. Nothing more annoying. Well, maybe but hey. Anyway my Lampi is back so let's admire some of Alan Direbottle's work. That is his name. I am sure. Maybe. Note: impossible to upload pics at the moment via Tapatalk. Keep getting an error. Will try later.

I am finding it is basically behaving a bit weirdly recently anyway esp. on this forum.

It does sometimes have the problem of showing posts out of order. A quick up-to-top followed by down-to-bottom sorts them out.

I wonder if the server side Tapatalk software needs an update.
But yeah the order issue is what I am seeing quite a bit.

Yes, I think I'll lodge a support case with ProBoards and see what they say.

Pics related to post #42 above. The heater selection switch for various triode types is a fabulously satisfyingly clunky thing. Toroidy sure make a pretty tranny cover. That's Amperex 211 being used to give an idea how big the Tesla RD27AS transmitting triodes are. The heat sink does get warm running high wattage triodes like RD27AS. The Rod Coleman regulator is really nice to the heater filaments on power up. Six heater selection points means the valves are being run close to ideal operating conditions. Good work from Alan Beerbottle. He has done a top job on this. Must have required some effort to understand what to do and actually do it. Respect. Now where's that Otexbottle? Still can't hear properly my ears really do need the warm water propulsive jet treatment. Can't get the left one unclogged. Don't wanna go to the doctor. It occurs to me I'd get on better with the new listening room if I could hear properly. This ear thing has been building up for a while I think. You know when it's sorted as the Otex stops fizzing. After loads of applications it is still fizzing. I have a bitch of a clump of wax in there.

Remember the tip from my ENT consultant for clogged up ears, keep yourself well hydrated. I'm convinced it really helped me, still does on the rare occasions it starts to clog up again.

New toy, at least a highly revised one by that super-tech Beerbottle guy, and a bunged up ear.... Life can be a bitch. Looks good, though. Must admit that all those crazee valves of yours do make me smile.

It's a strangely addictive product, Jerry.
I must have spent a lot of money on valves. Multi-Ks. Hopefully they will appreciate a bit over the next decade or two.

It's funny, I've needed to get my ears done roughly a couple of times a year for the past 40 years but I've not been for microsuction for 2 or 3 years now which is great. I used to lose my hearing completely with a bad build up.

I can now hear again. This is brill and a very similar sensation in use to the machines the NHS use. Much better than using a shower head. It gets in where it counts. From Amazon. Way overpriced for what it is but I am just glad to be able to hear again!

Great, seems to be a syringe system - was it gentle on your ears?
I've been paying 60 quid a go for microsuction in recent years on the basis that it's the least invasive. I used to hate those prehistoric metal syringe treatments they used years ago at the doctors which often irritated my ears.

Yeah it's fabulous and gentle, unless you pump too hard I would guess. You sure can hear the water gushing around, just like the NHS pulse jet ones. It's obviously cruder as you are just hand pumping but it does the job and very quickly too.
Just fill it with warm water. You can add hydrogen peroxide at 25% if you want. But I don't think you'll ever need to.
Otex is urea hydrogen peroxide. It is quite harsh stuff if you ask me.
If you were really bad maybe soften with olive oil for a day or two but I hate that. You basically go totally deaf in that ear.
The NHS machines just use pure water as far as I know. But they do say use olive oil first before your visit.

I can't be doing with olive oil or Otrex. I think I am still traumatized by putting olive oil in my ear that was 'over warm' LOL!!

Latest rectifier on the test bench. A 5Z4GY. Latched onto this because the guys at Head-Fi thought it excellent. It's a £20 rectifier and it does sound excellent with PX25. Better than my previous fave the Chatham potato masher. 40ma is expected new but these measure 54ma on both sides. Rare to see both sides match exactly.

There must be other nice ones for tubes out there somewhere.
