Manufacturers are intending to reduce their product range from a figure of say 17 to 7 as a means of countering the lunercy of the buying public.

There are 18 items missing from my order according to the email from Sainsbury's, and a few subs that I don't want, but I got more of my order than I expected. No loo rolls, no sausages, no baked beans, and the gammon joint for the slow cooker isn't available, nor is the yeast and one type of bread flour out of two I ordered. I have got bread though, and eggs. The result seems to be "eat, but don't excrete".

That's pretty good - hoping my order in a couple of weeks time is as successful.

I'm already signed up with Morrisons and Tesco, but I thought I'd register with Sainsbury to give a bit more flexibility and maybe cop an earlier delivery date ... ..."Due to the huge increase in online orders, we're pausing new registrations for the time being" And with Tesco you can only seem to book up to 3 weeks ahead, and all slots are currently taken.
Dang. Definitely all fingers crossed for my Morrisons order!

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you, Jerry. Hopefully the supply chain should have sorted itself out by then. I'm signed up with Tesco (I've got an order booked for 3 weeks time) as well as Sainsbury's. I've also signed up with Asda and Waitrose but they haven't got slots available either. The reason Sainsbury's is not taking new registrations is probably that they've promised to give priority to their elderly (over 70), disabled, and vulnerable customers, followed by their existing delivery pass holders.

One more piece of Sainsbury's-related info: In theory, should you actually get a delivery, they will only deliver to your door now, and not bring your order inside for you.Unless you think you might be able to prevail upon the driver's good nature it will be useful to have shopping bags, cardboard boxes, or (they suggest) even a laundry basket at the ready to carry your shop from the door to the kitchen etc. I was lucky, today's driver was actually a guy I know, and that, coupled with "leaning heavily" on my walking stick and assuring him I had no symptoms, worked a treat and he carried my stuff through for me. I can't see anything similar on the Tesco Online info.

. . . . they will only deliver to your door now, and not bring your order inside for you.
Ain't now way I would have let them in anyway - all my deliveries are being left outside on my patio, with the assumption every item is potentially infected. Everything then gets wiped down before coming in the house. As far as I'm concerned every surface, item and person outside my controlled environment is a risk and I'm trying to stay as close to zero risk as I can for now. My mailbox has been taped up for days, mail is left on the doorstep for me to deal with later.
My first delivery is due Tuesday, I'm not expecting much of it to be honest, but we'll see? Ran out of fresh stuff a few days ago and not shopped since Monday 9th, which was a normal shop. The only thing I have stockpiled is whisky, but that was all bought long before the world had even heard of Covid-19.
Down to 44 bottles now

Yep, we're quarantining all deliveries for 3 (maybe 4) days before they are let into the house. The mrs is a bit paranoid!

"This is Serious," said Tim. "I must have an Escape." So he took his largest bottle of whisky and escaped with it to a broad branch of his tree, well above the water, and then he climbed down again and escaped with another bottle... and when the whole Escape was finished, there was Tim sitting on his branch dangling his legs, and there, beside him, were fourty-four bottles of whisky... Two days later, there was Tim, sitting on his branch, dangling his legs, and there, beside him, were twenty-two bottles of whisky... Three days later, there was Tim, sitting on his branch, dangling his legs, and there beside him, was one bottle of whisky. Four days later, there was Tim...

He must have nailed himself to that branch. There's no way he'd have remained upright after drink all that whisky! Smart.

Very selfish of Tim, panic buying all the whisky - what a disgrace! There's now a national shortage and I'm going thirsty - I was wondering why Amazon prices have rocketed!

I have made sure that if the meat and vegetables run out and I can't get out of the house, I still have a survival stash set aside.

Should have said product ranges reduced to increase the quantity of available products. On today's The Food Program on Radio 4, it was stated food purchased has increased by a factor of 10. Very selfish of Tim, panic buying all the whisky - what a disgrace! I'm hiring out my crystal ball, as I bought most all those last year, some in 2018 - only whisky I've bought this year is that bottle of Springbank CS. Should have bought 2 really, as it's jolly good. Gotta plan ahead Jules, a good boy scout can't run out of whisky.
I will swap toilet rolls for whisky though, 1 roll for Glenfiddich, 2 rolls for the good stuff

Just logged into my Waitrose account to check my order, not looking good already. I want fresh stuff, but not going to get much. I had ordered 12 carrots, not 12 bags, 12 individual carrots. I am only allowed 3. Loads of stuff now marked as unavailable, so already my basket is around 35% down and it wasn't that big to begin with.
Scurvy anyone?

Put lemon juice in your hot toddy and some more of that Glenfiddich that's no use for anything else!
