Some people are really going to town with panic buying right now. Toilet roll is one of the most sought after item.
I posted a picture of a guy with a trolley load of toilet rolls in Costco yesterday and it ended up trending worldwide! Has the world gone nuts?

I still remember the shortage of sugar and toilet rolls from the 70s
Sugar was real, although one of my mates girlfriend's mother had so many bags of it
The toilet roll shortage after was brought about solely by the panic buying which emptied the shops and then the supply chain.
These days stocks and supply chains of everything are smaller
There will be shortages of all sorts if we are not sensible

I ordered Kalamata olive bread and a Soya & Linseed loaf this week. Neither was delivered and "no substitute was available" for either. I ordered some oat-based milky stuff, not delivered, no substitute. I have no bread this week, but fortunately, I did order some "proper" milk as well as the oaty stuff or I'd have had none of that either.
I'm not sure if all that is down to panic buying or a really crap shopper at Sainsbury's. Either way, I did find out that one cannot contact Sainsbury's "Customer Service" via email any more. The choices are now Twatter, Farcebook Messenger, Telephone, or BSL.

Not sure if on that side of the ocean hand sanitizer is a big deal but here near Boston it is utterly impossible to find. People missing work to line up and get it when trucks deliver to stores. And unfortunately people just cleaning out shelves of certain items not saving any for anyone else.
My roommate is trying to make her own sanitizer with aloe and rubbing alcohol.

Yes, hand sanitizer is virtually unobtainable here now. Soap is fine if properly used and it's just another example of 'me first' thinking that is currently poisoning society.

Let the dipsticks buy up the hand sanitiser. You only need to use it when you can't wash your hands. Having listened to some experts....the virus has an oily covering, this helps it stick to you. You can use alcohol or soap to break it down so you unstick it. Just like doing the washing up. Soap and water is just a good as hand sanitiser, so some experts say.

But the solution is quite obvious, amputate ones own hands, no more worries about sourcing black market sanitizer and dramatically reduce the risk of infection from picking ones nose or rubbing ones eye.

All that I can say is that worldwide sales of some of my items have increased recently. I assume people are making sure their music system is all properly set up and ready to go in case they are quarantined and can't leave the house.
