There are big losses without a baffle but power compensates. Also if you are close to the drivers it's quite a physical experience. I use 900W with my 15 inch Daytons. It's just enough in an 18 x 15 room. Are the Daytons in a box in your speakers Clive?

A bit more playing with the system and the treble sounds settled and now has the warmth to the sound. It has taken a bit of time but did not cost anymore I will not bore with the details, But tonight was a very enjoyable listen.

I'd post a pic but I'm struggling via my phone.

Ali I would seriously consider suspending the bass drivers I am sure Clive will back me up what this will do for your bass You could find a way to do this from the frame like Clive has A less radical approach that will give the same benefit

Steve The one area I think your system would benefit from is faster bass Perhaps I bring the Neos up sometime as it will give a idea if it would work

Those drivers look interesting, quite a low sensitivity though. Presumably the huge Xmax makes up for this, or do you pad down the other drivers? I would still need the high sensitivity of the mid and top end as I’d be running them with my OTL.

I assume you are running a pair of these per channel, do you run them in parallel?

The Neos are quite sensitive I mostly listen to rock metal jazz and fusion so don't need that extra bass So running 1 inuke The drivers are wired out of phase

Here a interesting article www.regonaudio.com/Celestial%20Sytem%206000.htmlThey not suspended but a lot of the same thinking If you coming to London for the show in September come over and hear as not easy to get your head around without hearing first

Could keep the tapped horns to do just 40Hz and below for example. I'm going to be borrowing a pair of Legendary Vitavox AK-151 mid bass drivers soon. They will go in the mid bass horns. I've never heard a pair but they are the stuff of mid bass legend amongst hornists. Making pretty much any implementation sound good / better..

Do you have links please? You run them back to back? Out of phase, in series or parallel?

Turn facing each other and sealed so in my case idobarek I am wiring back drivers out of phase with the front drivers I am using the Selenium Neo bass drivers They are not maid anymore Clive using different bass drivers Mine will not do deep electronic music The Daytons 380 and 390 will do electronic bass The Um18 just does crazy deep bass.

Thanks John, yes the UM 18 looks a beast, just the low sensitivity is a concern.

Yes but Watts are cheap You only really need that power when playing at high levels

Yes, but my concern would be matching them to a high sensitivity mid/ top driver(s). Guess you could just turn them up though, quite a bit of leeway with that much Xmax.
What size of box are you using John?

I volume match from the inuke Ali It's pretty straight forward You have a mini DSP I think? So should be easy to control slopes etc Sorry I do not understand the question as I am not using baffle or box

Here an independent link from Ian of Lenco forum around the approach My only comment is that the strident sound he was hearing was the power supply to the DAC as I said the PRV is sensitive. That is now cured with a supercap PSU recently installed to the DAC www.lencoheaven.net/forum/index.php?topic=31371.45

My own take is power is the key Putting them back to back is my own personal favourite configuration I have heard quite a few and it does help Baffle have good and bad points So can make easier to drive but add colouration IMHO Confused with this John, do you mean face to face?
