Phew - got a house (fingers crossed) that we should be moving into end of October, i have been missing the music!
Its been in storage this whole time...
Does anyone know of a good piano movers service? I need to get my speakers up a set of stairs and i can't do this safely with the size and weight of them. I actually tore a muscle in my calf putting them into storage.

Very handy to have around in the future too
You may be able to hire an electric one
I'd have one if I didn't already have my brilliant Slingsby normal sack truck

I can hardly believe what I move with my conventional Slingsby sack truck
It is wonderfully balanced and quite light itself. Big boxes, large tables, desks, fridge freezers, sofas
The technique was easy to get - with a good truck.
You will have to see how the three wheeler works but I bet it works well

Our house worked out, we got a mortgage just in time from the looks of things... Also have the system here and its killing me not setting it up; we're getting the carpets redone, so I've had to be grown up  it's been eight months since i last used it so whats a few more weeks? Well, a lot as it goes, the anticipation is massive. |

Get a MINIRIG 3 Bluetooth speaker(s) and a MINIRIG 3 sub.
Really impressive, portable system with bass to about 35hz.
You can set 2 up as a stereo pair.

Thanks all for suggestions; I just hired help to get the speakers up the stairs for tomorrow and I've thought sod it, I'm setting it up ASAP, carpets be damned! I'll work that problem out in three weeks and enjoy myself until then One thing I'm really excited about is the Townshend platforms, I ordered them in March (whilst in Australia), got them delivered to a mate in the UK and just opened them this afternoon, so can't wait to give them a try. I'll get the rest of the system set up tonight and pop the speakers in place tomorrow. I feel like a kid before Christmas I must say. |

It took eleven hours to get it set up, but i have music!
I need to find the right spot for the speakers, sort out my server etc etc, I'm just glad it all works.
Here's to not being an adult and waiting!!!

Try the speakers without the stands first. Yes, I'll have a play to find the best position i can, the I'll Townshend the speakers. I don't know if i can face it tonight though. Who knows, maybe I'll stop to enjoy it for a minute?! |

Goodness, it's hard to describe just what the speaker podiums do right now; there's just so much more information being presented, in a cohesive way across the entire spectrum I'm just sat here pulling incredulous (and probably stupid) faces.
They're remarkable, the most obvious change is with the bass, low level smear i was used to is gone, leading to a slightly drier sound down there and it's so much better delineated, more texture, firmer and more assured.
Everything is faster sounding, meaning attack is better portrayed, there is more air and micro dynamics, and previously hidden (smeared?) details are allowed to show.
Amazing!
