Recently released full Beethoven string quartet cycle by the Miro Quartet - some of the early album releases were superb, especially of the late quartets. Looking forward to trying these out.

Oh yes, this is a bit special, and there is much more to come ... Tartini with C houchane Siranossian and Venice Baroque Orchestra
Just listen to her phrasing and technique - makes the music sound like it was composed yesterday. She is one to follow. Sterling support from the orchestra. From Presto Classical - <The French violinist included Tartini’s famous Devil’s Trill sonata on her 2016 album L’Ange et le Diable with Jos van Immerseel, which won the Baroque Instrumental category at the International Classical Music Awards the following year; this first volume of a projected series of the composer’s violin concertos (which run to roughly 160) features five unpublished works, one of which was only recently discovered by the musicologist Margherita Canale>

Yes, it sounds splendid on the big rig, quite small scale but atmospheric, as you say, and there's an occasional growly organ pedal to remind you that it's wide bandwidth. Lovely performance.
Very nice 24/96 sound.

Lovely recommendation Jules. Just listening to it now. Great acoustics, trying to work out what space this was recorded in. edit: found it. All Hallow’s Church, Gospel Oak - just around the corner.

TIDAL has the full album as of 3rd April. You sure spoti does not? Ah, yes it is on spoti, many thanks Edward. I just had to go a slightly strange route to find it. They should find a way of notifying you when the full album is released.

Here's something rather special.
A 'single' release of the Schubert 4 hand Fantasia, D940, with Sergio Tiempo and his mentor, Martha Argerich.
Learn about the recording here ...
