This will certainly be worth checking out - the excellent Christian Tetzlaff's new recording of the Beethoven and Sibelius.

Couple of interesting new releases this week.
A new Beethoven from the excellent Leonidas Kavakos.
And always nice to get some new lute music.

Looking forward to this new release from Beatrice Rana after her highly feted Goldberg ...
Particularly interested in her version of The Firebird!

New from Wang and Capucon, presumably an album to follow, this is very nice indeed.

I've not come across Damrau before. Singing Beim Schlafengehen, she reminds me a little of Schwarzkopf but with more humanity and a touch of Norman's power. Im Abendrot is near-perfection.
The accompaniment is so important for these songs, I find. Jansons does a fine job, close to the pinnacle that is Masur who is almost transcendent in his accompaniment.
These are very fine performances.

Excellent!
I've only heard snippets of it so will give it a proper listen next week.

This is a highly rated new recording of the Tchai and Barber VC’s by 19 year old Johan Darlene.
Not listened to the Tchai since I started streaming, so will be very nice to make the reacquaintance.
So many great recordings over the years, one is spoilt for choice!

Another US orchestra starts releasing its own music. Good luck to them. 'New World' symphony as their 1st. Are people really interested in yet another recording of it? Sigh. Still, I suppose it could have been the 4 Seasons.

Running a record label can't be easy, but they probably enjoy far closer control of their product.
I think the NSO are Washington DC based?
