Yes, it was for me too (apart from the OTA updates, which didn't affect daily performance). Glad development still continues.

Tried to update to V3 OTA this evening. Done countless V2 updates, never had a problem.
This time after checking compatibility, it got stuck on 14% progress and no RPi activity in 40mins.
Contact was lost, restarting the app at first appeared okay, but then just went to white screen the while time and after app restarts.
No read/write RPi activity, I just powered off / on and was directed to do a full setup of V2.917. Language, network, Qobuz etc I was still signed into Virtuoso though.
Once all set up, I could play Qobuz music again. Sounds spot on too.
My NAS settings were lost. I only use this with perhaps 50 tracks, as back up is Qobuz is down (never is really).
I've forgotten how to fix up an SD card - it's been that long, and it would mean taking the lid off Najda too🙂
I'm awaiting support from the Volumio team.

Bummer. I was going to attempt the update myself tonight, but I got sidetracked. Maybe that was just as well. I did rather wonder exactly what the process for upgrading entailed as the email I received states... As soon as it mentioned the " First Config Wizard" I became wary, especially as all of my music is on two Synology NAS boxes. At least with the new Pi 4 it loads my libraries up a bit faster. I'll try to give it a go after lucnh tomorrow. Watch this space.

Good luck! Volumio OTA updates were never completely reliable for me.

I've never had any trouble OTA. Had been rock solid.
Volumio support emailed me back promptly, with;
so, let's try in this way
1)connect PI via ethernet to the router 2)factory reset from System menu 3)chech updates 4)with Volumio 3 installation you will lose all local settings 5)after reboot follow the wizard to re configure 6)about streaming services, you'll need to go to SOURCES and login again on each one
Only difference is doing the factory reset. I only ever use ethernet conn anyway. Will try it this evening.

Yes, that's a bit how I feel at the moment. V3 won't sound better, I'm pretty sure of that.
What happened to my V2.915 must have been a factory reset! Everything had to be input again. I'm not adverse to that, only takes a few minutes (if all goes well), and it keeps the relevant settings fresh in your mind.
It could all good swimmingly, or be a SD format re-learn..
I have my suped up ChromeCast Audio as 24/96 fall back.

Right, let's give this a go - * dons Captain Oates mask* - I may be gone some time. [EDIT] So far, so good. Now I've got to wait for my 9,045 albums to be recognised.

YouTube becomes more impressive by the week

All up and playing. I also seem to have *gained* 5 albums.

YouTube becomes more impressive by the week I don't think you can judge a music player versus one streaming service in that way. There is no doubt that Volumio extracts great sound quality from streams and files. YouTube is highly variable in sound quality and not a good source for albums in general.

We have lift off!
That's more like it - usual easy OTA update performed.
V3.173
Handling of playlists and search is much more professional. Ability to link from a track to the album, and artist with all albums is now like it.
Sounds good as ever..

Excellent source for albums that are not on other sites My need is to find music and sample Sorry, what I meant by that is many of the albums have been ripped by amateurs and posted without permission. They last a while and then are taken down. Some are even sourced from vinyl as you can hear the pops and clicks. For me, it's not a reliable or high quality source of albums.

I see a mix of amateurs, artists and companies
