I think it will be Marmite, Paul! Kourtaki produce cheap table wines, a huge amount of which are exported. Expect a lot of flavour but not much in the way of subtlety - whether you like it or not I couldn't guess ... Thanks, Jules, that's pretty much the level I was expecting, but at £6.25 per bottle it has to be worth a punt. Perhaps mine will end up going " down the sink" too, as the writer of one review reported. I'd like to think I've got more willpower than that though, no matter how bad it tastes.

Have you taken to your bed Paul, was it that bad?

Have you taken to your bed Paul, was it that bad? It's a part of my Sainsbury's weekly delivery, Jules, so it will be arriving between 15:00 & 16:00 tomorrow.

As expected, not exactly the last word in sophistication, but it's not stuff you tip down the sink either. It was something between an Oloroso and a Tawny Port, but without the depth and body of either. I tried it chilled last night, which may have accounted for the initial rough edges, which smoothed over time. So, it's room temp tonight, and we'll see what that brings. At six quid a pop though, well worth the money.
[EDIT] Definitely more palatable at room temperature.

Sainsburys? My huge 'local' barely seems able to keep its shelves well stocked. Thanks, I'll look out for either Kora Debu (to which I was introduced in Warsaw) or Palona, which I have not yet tried. nicholas you've given me an idea. I'll try a sip later EDIT: no, Bison Grass is another vodka in their range.

Any UK white wine drinkers out there??
I can *highly* recommend the new "Expressions" range by M&S.
I’ve recently sampled three different Italian wines from this range - clean and fresh tasting, you can genuinely taste the local terroir and character; they’re just remarkable value at around £10 or less. Expressions is aptly named……….
Tonight I'm on a rather lovely South African Marsanne.

I like a good Italian white.

My favourite white is still Sainsbury's Alsace Gewürztraminer (which is on offer at the moment, dammit) or, to be fair, any Gewürztraminer.

I have been given a bottle of Feuerheerd's Portuguese Anchor Wine Reserva 2020 red by a kind supplier. I'm looking forward to tasting that once we're into the Xmas break.

I'm not a huge lover of the cream liqueurs, one glass is usually more than enough in fact, but as I'm in Christmas Cocktail mode I have been tempted by a couple of special offers on Baileys Chocolat Luxe Liqueur, and Baileys Espresso Crème Liqueur, at a tenner per 50cl bottle. I'm now set, I think. Vodka for the base, those two, Tia Maria, sugar-free Gomme, Chocolate syrup, and Cold Brew Coffee Concentrate. To mix things up a little (pun intended) there is Rum to swap base around, and also some Sticky Toffee Rum Liqueur, not to mention Honey Vodka, but don't think the Rhubarb Vodka will mix awfully well with any of that lot. I've also dredged up my cocktail shaker and jigger, both bought ages ago and completely unused ...until now).

I'm not sure, I think you were quoting the Bison Grass in the post above, in Sainsburys.
I think I saw it in an Aldi not so long ago.

There are a few Żubrowka vodkas on Amazon, and Sainsbury's sell the Bison Grass variant, but I can't find a retailer in the UK who stocks Zubrowka Zlota Kora Debu
