Had a couple of interesting moments on the bike this week. Surprising how much the wind can push you around so much No more biking this week No excuse needed to sit and listen to music

Let's hope we don't have power problems, then. Otherwise you'll be pedalling and listening!

Here in the Vale of York we have been right on the edge of the amber warnings for both these storms so have got off lightly. Anyone living in the South West and Wales ought to be nailing boards over the windows and stocking up on spam and pale ale.

I'm southwest ish, so have just cooked up a big pan of fresh grub which can be eaten cold and would last a few days if power is out for a while.
Also just checked that my old, and long unused, CD Walkman still works OK! No excuses for missing out on music, as long as the roof doesn't blow off.

I'm working from home, thought it would be safer. We've just had an alert going around sending all staff home before 10:00 if they have come in.

"It's not raining" says the wife just now "shall we go for a walk in the forest?" Amber wind warning, Red warning just a few miles away. Utterly insane. It might be fun, though!

It's just starting to wail like a banshee around the barn here. We're a bit exposed at the top of a hill.

Your wife may have something planned for you in the forest,so beware it may not be that funny if it’s cold or if you have to run from the bears. A
