Storm Eleanor certainly caused some noise last night, I think that's the loudest wind I've heard since we moved to our barn. We're pretty exposed and got the full thrust of it causing a largely sleepless night.
This morning consisted of dodging all manner of branches and bits of tree to get to the motorway. Otherwise no damage here. Anyone else affected?

Nothing here yet that I know of. However, having driven up most of the length of the country yesterday I know that Monday night must have been fairly wild too, as I saw a lot of freshly blown and/or split trees.

Very windy here. Glad to say I slept through most of it. Few branches down here. Will see more when I go on the bike ride

Pretty windy here. Not great night for the recycling to have been put out, the number of broken bottles, plastic and cardboard floating about on the road is ridiculous, I have just gone out to help with one of my neighbors who's box of glass bottles fell and smashed everywhere.

Certainly the noisiest wind I've experienced in the 25 years or so I've been here!
It made me wake in the night so I got up to see what was going on. Not been outside yet but garden is strewn with long branches from surrounding trees. Hopefully there's nothing more significant.

I gather you've been having a spot of weather. Sue just announced that in the OOk and the north of France the winds are 150 kilometers miles an hour
Even the slower of those possibilities is blowy!

The storm wind was loud. I thought the house might blow down. Luckily the three little piggies had used stone... The last time I woke up from such a loud noise was when the IRA put a bomb under a flyover about a mile away from where I live. That one was a lot more damaging as well.

Last night was very windy around 2am, some serious noises from all around the rear of the house plus a few creaks so while we did not experience the force that some of you had, but bad enough!

Its flipping' cold out there today, I think it is a combination of the wind being so strong, either way it is bitter!

Done nothing but rain for two days. Brought a record back home with me & was 99% sure it would be ruined by the time i got home but was perfectly fine.

Well that was quite the most lethal journey into work for a long time. My area and the motorway were ok, but once I came off it was a skating rink all the way. I was barely keeping control at 25mph and yet had two nutters right behind me, one of whom overtook down a particularly slippery country road. The fastest drivers on the motorway? White vans. Dicks!

I am thankful that I only have a 3 mile drive to work this morning, rather than the usual 20-odd.

Luckily I'm working until late this evening as I don't relish the 30 mile drive home if the freeze continues. I'd rather have as few cars around me as possible.

I'm retired, and my wife's on strike (!) so we're able to stay home. Just as well since it's about a foot deep, still coming down heavily, and blowing around into drifts.
This is indeed the heaviest snowfall since around 2010.

Not a day for me to go cycling on the roads. We have about 3" of snow. Ok walking the dogs on the fields. That's it for me today.

It was -6 when I was out walking our mutt this at 7-ish morning and it never rose above -2 all day. We've no depth of snow but it's extremely dry - I've never seen such powdery snow in the UK. Back in now from his evening walk and the temperature is dropping again quite quickly.

It was a very slippery white knuckle ride in this morning, worse in Ascot. Tonight the wind chill is very severe. Not sure what to expect tomorrow morning.
Rear wheel drive not helpful!
