Oh ye. 15 years ago or so we'd get 4 or 5 of these snow storms that would just dump a foot of snow or more.
Now we only get 2 of them, occasionally 3.

It's snowing quite hard here, and as I'm somewhat hors de combat at the moment I can't think of a good reason not to go back to bed and snuggle down with a book. See you later.

It looked like the snow was settling, but it seems to have given up now.

We're on a bit of a plateau. Always seems colder and more windy.

Wow it happens often here, though avoidable, but not if a workplace doesn't cancel work.
Few years back we all knew there was a blizzard coming. But our boss didn't cancel the shift. Only two of us showed up and there was fuck all to do. I was sweeping floors, the other guy left. I told boss the night before that I'd have to leave at noon to drop my then gf off at her grocery store job. When it was time to go he asked sheepishly if I was coming back lol. I humored him and said sure if he wants. Meanwhile it was white out conditions you couldn't see buildings from the road.
People were out of their cars at intersections de-icing their windshield wipers. I was doing it while driving. Timing it just right catching it and snapping it against the window. The boss didn't believe that for a second.
Luckily gf's workplace called and canceled her shift just as we were leaving the house.
The Lolboss wanted me to drive through a white squall to go there and sweep floors. No thanks.

I’m sitting here with the air conditioning on wondering if I should extend my holiday by a week instead of coming back at the end of my planned vacation. I have been checking the weather forecast from BBC Breakfast and it looks pretty arctic.

It's forecast for -6C by tomorrow morning again. Not much snow so far, but one rain shower followed by a freeze will render commuting pretty much impossible.

I will take care walking the dogs around the fields Biggest problem will be uneven ground that doesn't give at all so some wobbly walking -3 yesterday and I wondered if the dogs would feel it Percy and Judy the Dachs/Papillon still tore around the garden playing dog version of tag, oblivious to the cold

-7C this morning, our office at the top of the building with all four sides exposed to the weather was seriously bracing.
I turned the heaters on at 06:30 but it was 30 mins before I could take my jacket off.
Luckily still no ice on the roads.

Ooh ! Think -6 was the coldest I cycled to work. That was quite bracing. Used to draw the line at -4 as long as the road was guaranteed dry

Do you guys see a lot of snow/but more so printer paper sized sheets of ice flying off of cars on the highway?
I've been guilty of it a small handful of times but recently with the kind snow and ice mix we had there were large sheets of ice getting airborne on the highway from impoperly cleaned rooftops of cars.
