Marco , your post proceeds on the basis the past didn't happen However , I believe the situation between you and RD is entirely your fault . I can appreciate you may not agree , but more to the point i am bloody sure that's what RD believes . He as only ever attacked what you have written * : you attacked him , his wife NVA and his ability to make a living . As stated , I am happy for you to move on from your past , but as Billy Bragg knows ,moving on from the past is a conundrum and somewhat difficult and I don't appreciate why RD should , I don't recall you even apologising . * Before you respond , I am happy to accept that RD came on to your forum and called what you had written bollocks , but i have no doubt he would have proven why it was bollocks with a full explanation and no matter what , abrasive language cannot ever be justifiable reason for all that ensued . And yes , I do agree that RD's confrontational style can be counter productive , but i also think some people react to it like arjen robben reacts to an attempted tackle . Perhaps if you're accustomed to being treated by people with civility and respect, as a matter of course, then it grates rather more when someone, completely unprovoked, treats you like a ****?
Incidentally, I'm referring to how Richard addresses complete strangers on forums, whom he has no 'history' with, not me. It's inexcusable.
MODERATION: sorry, but behaviour on other forums is of no concern to us.
In terms of what I've highlighted above in green, I guess it comes down to what you're used to - and what I'm NOT used to (and I suspect neither are many others here) is sharing space (web or otherwise) with abrasive, short-tempered, confrontational people.
Perhaps you're more used to that than I am, and so can brush it off more easily? Or maybe that shit amuses you? Well, I can't do that. It gets my back up right away when someone isn't capable of basic civility, and I react adversely to being treated that way. It's as simple as that.
The longer Richard continues to behave so aggressively towards people, the longer he'll be subjected to punitive action from those in charge on any forum where he doesn't have the final say.
The way of solving that is for HIM to change his attitude and LEARN from his mistakes, not continuing to play the victim and blame everyone else for how he's been treated. Quite simply, Richard has fallen out with too many people (I've lost count just how many there are) for it ALWAYS to be their fault, not his.
Marco.
MODERATION: unacceptable word removed.

Any further discussion of RD will be removed forthwith. We've had quite enough discussion of the subject now and the debate is becoming circular. Move on please and discuss other aspects of moderation.

You may believe it, DQ, but past history between RD and Marco are not this forum's concern. I will say it time and time again: all past baggage and that from other forums are to be left at the door.
Precisely (although I have answered in order to defend myself). Moderation: See Martins note above Marco.

Move on please and discuss other aspects of moderation. I dunno. I'm not sure discussing moderation achieves anything. It's like teachers asking their pupils what sort of rules they'd like, then saying 'No we can't allow that' or in TAS terms, 'sorry, that's how the forum software works'.

I had hoped that if we made an error of judgement members would point it out to us with a link to the post and we would then reconsider it. In retrospect, perhaps that was too much to ask. We'll give it a rest for a while and see whether it works at some future point.
Thread locked.

I am sorry to announce that, despite my attempt to calm the waters, Dr Bunsen Honeydew (Richard Dunn) has had his account suspended due to posting further nastiness after I had asked him to stop.
The entire thread "I had been conned, normality has not returned, so its WAR!" was a clear threat to the smooth functioning of this forum and has been deleted. A further announcement will be made later tonight.

ANNOUNCEMENT
The Admin team have decided that Dr Bunsen Honeydew (Richard Dunn) will have his account suspended indefinitely. He has clearly and repeatedly violated Forum Rule No. 3 (Never attack another member...) on many occasions and with such a lack of respect for other members that we have been forced to apply Forum Rule No. 8 (Banning will be employed only in the most exceptional of circumstances).
This forum was created with an intent to be inclusive, but in this case it is clear that we can no longer afford Mr Dunn such a courtesy. The disruption that he has brought to the forum has become such that the Admin team will not allow him to contribute to the site again under this, or any other user name.

ANNOUNCEMENT
We regretfully announce that Jammy's account has been suspended indefinitely with immediate effect. These are our reasons:
- We made it clear to Jammy that when his recent suspension was lifted, he would be on a final warning - Several forum rules have been broken on several occasions - We can't see evidence of Jammy improving his behaviour towards other members, despite having been given several chances - His behaviour is in danger of driving valued members away and, although Jammy has made some positive contributions to TAS, the forum is suffering from his disruptive actions - Bringing agendas and vendettas to TAS from other forums is going to be met with total resistance
