I shall be having a nice lazy dinner of smoked salmon, cream cheese, and cucumber on thickly sliced, multiseeded, wholemeal bread, and a long, cold, glass of "Tymbark Apple Cherry Drink," which I am currently hooked on.

I took my own advice this week, and bought a gorgeous Sainsbury's TTD Sourdough Pave (loaf). I've just hacked off three chunky slices, toasted them, and then buried them in equaly gorgeous Pie d'Angloys cheese. That was dinner, and it was bloomin' delicious. I heartily recommend both products. The Sourdough Pave really does make "special" toast.

I really didn't fancy a "dinner" tonight, so I hacked off a lump of saucisson sec, a hunk of Port Salut and buttered a couple of slices of Burgen Soya & Linseed Bread. I had a couiple of little bottles of Becks Blue non-alcoholic beer too, which were surprisingly drinkable. Just as well really as I've bought a case of 15.

One of my daughters moved out of home (again) yesterday. Being celiac, it limits some of the things we can cook.
Yay for more flexibility in what we can do.

Very nice Paul, all apart from that flavoured water they call Beck's Blue ... I went through a period of trying lots of the low alcohol lagers - my favourite by a country mile is Clausthaler but for something a bit different and very thirst-quenching I like Erdinger Weissbier. In fact I wish I had one now, it is unpleasantly warm right now!

I'm getting the hang of this Beck's Blue stuff, a couple of bottles a night with dinner is quite pleasant, especially in this hot weather. I think I'm becoming a non-alcoholic. I've ordered another case of 15 x 275ml for delivery on Saturday, but naturally, Sainsbury's now has it tagged as "Unavailable". So, I'm going to try some new stuff. Ghost Ship 0.5%, which is brewed by Adnams Erdinger Weissbrau < 0.5% which Jules mentioned. I've drunk Erdinger before, but not the low alcohol version. Pilsner Zero Alcohol - which is Sainsbury's own attempt. Sainsbury's also sell an own-brand Bavaria 0.0% Original Alcohol-Free Beer which is brewed in Holland and comes as 8x330ml for a fiver so I'll have a box of that too. I'm hoping they start to stock this in the not too distant future too. I'm dying to try it. No alcohol. and half the calories too.

Its the year 2021 and the brewing industry still continues to get away with pumping out what is in reality a very toxic drug.
I remember an episode to Tomorrow's World in the 70s where they showed a beverage with pretty much the same effects as alcohol with massively less toxicity.
Why isn't it available?
To be frank we could be doing a lot better. Politics and tax getting in the way, combined with a general lack of common sense.
We know the massive cost of this toxicity, yet governments condem far less toxic alternatives.

I had a bottle last night and will slurp another tonight with the football ... Yes, it was quite enjoyable, Jules. I got rather derailed this week, the Ghost Ship I ordered was out of stock and replaced with something very aptly named "Doom Bar Zero." So far It's the only beer I've been unable to finish. It was revolting. The Sainsbury's Bavarian Pilsner is drinkable and well worth the fiver-for-eight-cans pricing. Both Sainsbury's own Session Ale 0.5% and Pilsner Zero Alcohol are quite passable too, but out of all of that I've tried so far I still prefer the Beck's Blue, especially all the while it's on offer at £7.00 for 15 x 275ml bottles. Surprisingly, considering Beck's is a "premium" name, it also works out the least expensive. To enhance the "beer" experience I shall be attempting to make my own Doner kebabs next week. No. Really. I've already bought the seasoning mix and ordered the minced lamb.
