I have discovered that screen protectors drift over time! This is the 2nd one I've applied to the Oppo (I never really bothered with them before) and I know I aligned it exactly centred and straight. Now, about a year later, it's drifted to the left and down from where it was. Do they all do this or did I buy poor ones?

They're not the sort of thing one sees reviewed and ranked, are they? You pays your money and you takes your chances, I suppose. They probably all come out of the same massive smoke-belching factory in China anyway.

Not had screen protectors drift. I usually have then on a long time too. Perhaps that one had too much gel?

I'll try a different brand next time. I always use glass ones.

Just to (finally) complete the story, I received the email today to tell me that my phone would be delivered yesterday, and a separate email containing the " one-time password" which I would need to repeat to the driver before my new phone would be handed over. Fortunately, as I hadn't got a clue what he was talking about yesterday, he was able to accept the last two digits of my phone number(?) in lieu of the 6-digit security code. It's always possible the delay was due to BT's email system though, so I won't lay it at Amazon's door just yet.

It's getting close to game time, Paul. I planned to watch a good video review of the Redmi Note 13 Pro but haven't yet so will today.
I've decided to put my favorite horse into the race for screen protection in the form of: Frosted Screen Protectors.
Certainly not for everyone and they don't offer physical protection like other more durable ones do.
But they look stunning. Zero glare even in sunlight. Ex-gf used to get always the latest HTC phone. Each one came with a frosted screen protector. It makes the screen look more competent/elegant. Instead of a mess of everything in the room being reflected off of the glass of the phone causing the screen to always look different, this just put a matte finish across everything which somehow just looks stunning and professional. All of these adjectives Ive chosen here sound asinine. I wonder what's up with that.
Anyway, just one more option in terms of screen protection.

I owned a whole series of HTC phones and had forgotten about the matt look.
Ah well, I've just bought another set of glass screen protectors, hoping that these ones don't drift.

Well, that was an interesting exchange. I dived on to Amazon's Facebook page and set out the whole story from start to finish. I got the usual " please use this link" which sent me to the standard options of a phone call , or a chatbot. I kept on belabouring the point that either of those would not understand or accept what I was trying to say because of the scripts they have to work to and I would lose hours of my life. I'd also headed my post with exactly that, that I wished to avoid phone and/or chatbots. Long story short, they eventually gave in and sent me another link which took me to an Amazon page headed " Send Your Contact Information to Amazon Support for Social Media" and whoever that link connects to (Amazon.co.uk Customer Service in theory) will read my complaint, and reply to me via email. So, theoretically, my persistence paid off. What's the betting the email (if I eventually receive one) comes back with a note telling me that " this email was sent from an address that cannot accept replies" or something similar? Still, at least it feels like progress.

Amazon are good at keeping you away from humans. Even the chat windows are now all bots with dreadful logic and no way out.

Was checked in by them, but never arrived at Amazon.. I was able to explain all via the returns / contact them chat function. That was a real person. They refunded with 2 minutes! Returns work at least.

I did get this message from someone who obviously saw my travails... ...go to the chatbot, go through the usual guff and wait for a ' contact agent' at the bottom, appears very subtly. when you get through insist on a supervisor.

I am very pleased with two upgrades for my phone: Glass screen protectors that fit properly, stick without bubbles and have a hole for the front camera to aid alignment: www.ebay.co.uk/itm/175015026417A replacement gel case that is truly transparent and looks great: www.ebay.co.uk/itm/265215470835?var=565088227473With these two installed, it looks like a brand new phone. The links are for my phone but both vendors cater for other brands.

Bloody Hell. A 67W fast charger might be the understatement of the year so far.

Bloody Hell. A 67W fast charger might be the understatement of the year so far. Just picked up a 100w fast charger to go with my daughters new Honor Magic 6 Pro, boy does it charge fast, got to wonder what impact it has on the battery life mind you. Great phone too, fantastic camera on it which was the primary reason for going for the Honor, early bird offer on it to buy outright gave you £250 off, plus 1 years free screen damage insurance as well as an official cover with £20 discount and the Honor 100w fast charger for £14.99 instead of £49.99. Wasn't cheap but she got a loan from the bank of mum and dad 😁
