Call me crazy...I've ordered so many things from Amazon (over 100 items) that, believe it or not, nearly whatever I ask them for (refunds, random spontaneous store credit, waived fees, free prime movies that others pay for) they give it to me.
I've never seen anything like it in business.
Paul, could you call them up and ask very nicely for a discount or store credit or some kind of compensation towards your purchase? I truly believe that they'll bend over backwards to make you happy if you just ask.

I truly believe that they'll bend over backwards to make you happy if you just ask. The thing is, I already took advantage of a pre-order bonus which gave me £40.00 off of the actual price. I did consider cancelling the order and buying the one colour they do have in stock, but of course, that would mean paying £40.00 more than I originally did. Once I've actually got my hands on it I'll email them with my opinion of their service. I did that once before and got 3 months Prime free. In the meantime, I've posted on the Xiaomi UK Facebook page to see if I get a response to a question about availability. It might be that Xiaomi actually stiffed Amazon. I want to make sure, if I can, that I shout at the right people. [EDIT] I've just had a quick count up, and since 2005 I've made exactly 2,500 purchases on Amazon.

Understood. Makes sense. Jeez 2500 orders. If I'd had that maby, judging by the way they've treated me (no questions on their part and "yes" to every question I ask) I'd be getting free TV's and cocaine and hookers courtesy of Amazon.
Honestly Paul I wonder how much you could milk Amazon for this with your status as a customer.

They must have heard me moaning. So, it'll only be a month late, if it actually arrives on March 1 st which is only an "estimate" after all.

It's slowly getting closer. The delivery date has now been amended to "Arriving 26 February".
Xaiomi have answered my query (is there a problem with that particular colour in the UK?) on Farcebook and asked for a copy of my invoice to see if there's anything they can do to speed things along. I'm not holding out any hopes on that front though.

Bezos has been putting all his energy in to the new ads during Prime Video feature he's been rolling out.

...or not.

I should complain, although you'll probably get a free mp3 download I will hold out for a FLAC file.

Paul, please, no stinky letter.
Here's my logic: the amount of free shit (iPhone7 for gf years ago) and favors (insane extensions on service bills that were months overdue) I've gotten from my phone service provider Sprint in the 6 years I've been with them is amazing. It's a cheat code to life.
Why? Because they sent my mom the wrong device years ago and caused me literally an entire day on the phone trying to sort it out. And also because that ex-gf's iPhone6 had a bulging battery 2 years after purchase.
I've been milking those incidents like a cow farm for years because I never mention how long ago those incidents happened.
You use Amazon often. You could use this to your advantage with them for the rest of time.
I shit you not. I called Amazon to ask if I could watch a movie on Prime but did not have the funds to rent it and asked if they could unlock it for me. They could not unlock it but said they'd credit my account the amount necessary to watch it and they did.

Thanks guys I've began a youtube channel explaining how to "nickel and dime" these corporations. Can't get the camera or the mic to work so just "recording" content in front of a mirror for now.
Also, my mother has been talking about getting an iPhone for a year now. Her preferred model was the iPhone 12 Pro.
I just got her an iPhone 12 Pro Max (.6" larger screen size than Pro) for 15 bucks per month from Verizon only needing to put $70 down today.

In a final (and highly successful I might add) attempt to confuse me, Amazon has just delivered the phone which should have been here on Feb 2 nd and, when last heard of, was to be delivered on Feb 24 th. It's an impressive package, and contains everything one needs, from the 67W charger and cable to a set of wired ear buds. They even include a device to open up the sim holder. Also, (although I'm sure other companied do so) Xiaomi/Redmi are the only company I've come across that include a gel safety bumper/case as standard, and I remembered not to buy one this time. Oddly, the last couple - this one included - have been black, which rather dilutes the ability to specify which colour you'd like your phone to be. It's currently copying all of my "stuff" from the old phone quite happily, and was a doddle to set up, as it should have been. I'm happy at last.

Oppo included a good clear gel case, and screen protector, too.

The final pieces of the jigsaw. I've ordered a JuicEBitz braided fast-charger cable from their "PRO Series" range, not that there looks to be anything wrong with the one provided, but that now becomes my " spare". Last but not least, a flip-case as I tend to carry my phone and other assorted gubbins in a messenger bag on the rare occasion I'm out-and-about, and a flip case gives far more protection, plus it avoids having to bugger about with screen protectors that invariably have at least one wrinkle in them when I've finished applying them.
