I wonder if each person doing it is benefitting from all the research and errors made in the previous versions?
Nonetheless, I look forward to hearing it.

Interview with Mitsuko UchidaI love the headline - 'You have to risk your life on stage'These are the true performers in my opinion, those who aren't happy just to play it safe. That's why Sheku Kenneh-Mason will be a global superstar.

This is new to me, sounds very good indeed. Stripped bare, like Taverner.

English National Opera to give free tickets to under-18sThe English National Opera (ENO) has announced it will give free tickets to under-18s for its Spring 2019 season. Balcony tickets will be made available on Saturdays as a way of engaging young people in opera. Adults who pay full price for balcony tickets will also be able to bring up to four under 16s free to the London Coliseum. The scheme will also be open to groups or schools wanting to visit. Stuart Murphy, who is CEO of the ENO, said: "W e were founded on the belief that opera is for everyone. We strive to continually stage opera of world-class quality and bring it to as many people as possible." MORE

It'll be interesting to see whether that goes down well. I suspect it will.

The Guardian's music choices for 2018. Might be a few albums you've missed here.

I can't really suffer whole operas, but this section sounds good.

I note that the Alexander KASTALSKY - Memory Eternal to the Fallen Heroes features in this list, too. It's rather good.
There are a few Respighis in there for me to listen to, as well.
Oh, and I must listen to Dmitri SHOSTAKOVICH Symphonies 4 & 11 - Boston SO/Andris Nelson.

This Trifonov Rach 2 + 4 is the one that seems to crop up most in reviews of the year ... Not sampled it yet but on the playlist.

There are a few Respighis in there for me to listen to, as well. Talking of which I'm looking for choice recordings of the Roman Trilogy - got Pappano and Maazel to listen to. Anyone have any other favourites?

Not sure there are many ballet fans here but BBC Four are showing Swan Lake tomorrow night with the Royal Ballet. My favourite dancer, Marianela Nunez, takes the lead. Should be wonderful. www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m0001qzc
