Might be of interest to some here, a 100 page Gramophone special edition on some geezer called Beethoven. I received my copy and I'm avidly lapping it up. It's a great read and will take me some time to work my way through it. So good to have Qobuz on tap to sample all the recommended recordings. Highly recommended for anyone who loves music.

I was hacked off to get 7 wrong, especially as the last one of those I did I managed 8 or 9 correct answers. Elgar, Stravinsky, and Wagner, by the way, in case you're wondering.

My second choice kept turning out to be correct ...

A little treat for man like SlingerChristian Li, 10 year old Yehudi Menuhin winner, has just signed for Decca - here he is getting grips with the fiendish Dance of the Goblins ...

3 from Einaudi, all from the same suite, which is a bit cheeky of Decca, because it's available as a 7-CD box set and as individual CDs. I wonder what's wrong with days 3, 4, 5, and 6? For those who do not know (like me) ... I'm having a listen (to Day One) now, and it's prime Einaudi, which I like.

Yes, I like Einaudi too. Certainly in preference to that tedious No. 1.
