No way would I EVER watch a programme with Chris Evans in it. Guaranteed "Elvis moment" if his face appears for more than a few seconds in any home of mine.

I watched most of it last night - not as bad as I thought it might be.
No problem with the content, but a bit fragmented (clumsy links between items) and the 'team' definitely need to build a rapport as at the moment they're just a bunch of individuals.
Might watch again in a few weeks time to see if they've got it a bit more together.

5 minutes of Chris Evans being "shouty" was enough for us.

5 minutes of Chris Evans being "shouty" was enough for us. Putting up with 5 minutes of the twat is deserving of a medal IMO

Agreed. Although it would be 10s of Eddie Jordan for me.

I bet they would get on. Thank god they couldn't breed.

Not so great. It tries to repeat the show but lacks the wit to pull it off

The first thing they should have done was change the location. The show looks exactly the same so before anyone has even opened their mouth we expect the same level of quality as before.

The audience was said to be "improved"....a bit of a put down.
Overall it was ok but was a copy without good interaction. It was only the first program to be fair. Evans could do with a subwoofer for his voice.

Been putting off watching it. Finally last night
Nope, not for me.
Clarkson and co only just cut it for me, this is a 2nd division copy with a bloke I don't like shouting too much and looking rather old. Maybe revealing that the original as well as this is pointless

The BBC made a big mistake when selecting Evans. They were told then, and it has turned out to be as predicted.

So it's still shite then?

I watched it yesterday and even my 11 year old Top Gear loving son admitted it was 'crap'.
Where to begin? Well they are trying too hard to sell it to USA. The first report was filmed there, then there was GB v USA trip to Blackpool and then we had an American actor on the track. Not very subtle.
Chris Evans was simply trying. You can't generate enthusiasm just by shouting and grinning inanely. The studio audience didn't ever look really convinced by what they were watching which might explain why they were kept at such a distance. The scripted bits to camera lacked personality. As for the curry house staff sitting on top of the car - oh dear...
In fact the whole show felt distinctly Saturday night BBC 1 fun and games. If Noel Edmonds had popped up in Blackpool I wouldn't have been surprised...
The only thing I liked was the lovely and talented Sabine but she was woefully underused.

I thought it was ok.
If you try and forget the Clarkson era and look at it as a completely different show with the same name as its predecessor it is just watchable.
Personally looking at the new Clarkson show on Amazon, it already looks good from the trailers I've seen.

I watched it and thought Evans' voice was even more grating than on the radio. The three-wheeler piece was toe curling as it lacked all the humour of the old team.
Sabine was good but woefully under-used.

You all saw the "catering joke" Chris Evans did? "we dont tak about catering around here.." And the audience roared in laughter...except it was canned. BBC fail. www.telegraph.co.uk/tv/2016/06/04/top-gear-reboot-boosted-by-canned-laughter-as-viewers-brand-it-t/Chill the fuck out, just be yoursleves, avoid internet Polls and just let the show be what the show will be. Thats what some wise person did when they recognised Clarkson's talent. 5/10 for me, but its only the first show...be fair and give it a chance.

What's the general verdict? Give the 2nd episode a chance? I can't say I would ever look forward to seeing more of Chris Evans, but it's the cars I want to see.

OK 2nd show better than 1st. Matt le Blanc can drive. Eddie Jordan...No No No. Chris Evans has more clout at McLaren than Jensen Button...Sad after what cars he's had to put with last season, should have been given 1st refusal on the new McLaren 6whatever. It must be a Surrey thing! Damian Lewis is not bad at football (switched over to see him come on for England at Soccer Aid)
