Just to confirm the TIS was shipped by RMSD (fully insured) to Alaska this morning. As the Post Office don't count Saturday's as a working day, it should arrive Tuesday by 1pm Brilliant. Thanks

And what colour socks will the postie be wearing? I requested red, but they said they couldn't guarantee it. You can't get the staff these days

I still have the Phono 2 here but unused since the arrival of my Zu Denon 103 cartridge.
Once my Claymore 2 amp comes back from service I'll refit my 2M Blue cartridge and report back on how that goes.
After that I might be tempted to have the Phono 2 changed to MC and give it a go with the Zu 103.
However if anyone wants the Phono 2 in the meantime please don't hesitate to ask.

Well, he only rang once and was wearing grey socks, but the TIS was delivered at 10.32 today. Fair play Royal Mail. Looking forward to trying it out tonight.....

Can I boringly bring it back to topic...
The initial loan lists have been pretty well exhausted now, so the main suspects will be available once again. Is there no one with a smaller amp interested in trying a P20/A20 or AP20 integrated? I spent a few weeks with the ones I made up recently and never found them lacking in sound...

Bump for this loan thread. I have an AP20 and a A20/P20 pairing available as well as the BMU and TIS which are with people still. Other items off the list should be available later on next week.

What the feck is it with this site and IE11? I can't type as it slows to a crawl, yet Chrome seems a lot better (I like the saved tabs on the IE11 home page and that's why I use it still)...
Back to business -
Now the Doc is back and catching up with multi cable orders, I thought it ok to bump this thread up again. The BMU should be with me for checking (due the the loose socket) and I'm NOT check for tampering FFS, but the internal wiring is on a grid structure and may have been damaged by the socket popping out. Any visual wiring would usually be flexible from the transformer (only a very few sources for this type...) to the 'grid-work' around the sockets on top. Once I've checked it over and compared it to mine, it'll be available for loan again if anyone's interested in trying it for themselves.
The TIS has been held on to for a bit too long and needs to be returned now or passed on if not needed. I don't want any more rockets up my arse chaps, so please play fair and write reviews and pass on promptly..
As for the rest and I apologise if this is seen as a shill, but I am keeping it here and not anywhere else - you cannot ALL be running expensive Top End systems surely? The smaller NVA amps are delightful and available for immediate loan and if one isn't made up ready to go, it will be. I'm finishing off a batch of AP20's now I'm able to fit the output stages myself and it's a delightful little thing to me, as is the separates A20/P20, which is something of a bargain really imo. I'm in the process of making up some of the basic beer-money LS2 speaker cable for myself as the thicker cables can't be used in the main system, so I can report on how this compared to the Cable Talk E4 (fig 8 version of 4.1 of old and similar gauge to current Talk 3). There is some LS3 available now too I believe (two computers with emails spread all over both, but I shall integrate it all later and provide a separate list).
Oh yeah, I have some Cube 2's here to try - EEK! - This is the eagerly anticipated (by me) loan pair and once I've had a go (and reviewed them from my pov), these wil be back in circulation...
Full loan list to follow. Don't dismiss the lower cost amps, they really surprised me in comparison with the usual sub-£500 favourites, including the Rega Brio R, which is a good all rounder, but NOT the best sounding amp at this price...

I loved LS2 and thought it beat everything else I had until Chris lent me his Silver Alloy cables. It's nothing special or fancy in terms of materials, but it works and it saw off the usual Linn Naim contenders, as well as a few other inc Supra and Cable Talk.
Whilst I have never got on with LS1,3 or 5, the addition of the more expensive cable in LS6 made it work for me. But that's a pricey cable and not everybody wants to spend that much. Anyone who's not looking to spend big bucks on speaker cable should at least try LS2. I haven't run NVA amps for ages, but LS2 has worked well with everything. Whilst I use the Silver Alloy cable now, I still have some LS2 as a backup. I've sold all the others.

I really like the LS5 I bought, but my speaker choices are very different from yours and I'm sure it's a synergy thing. LS6 is so much more expensive, it's out of the question for me. The LS2 is a straightforward instrument cable off the drum, so no foo or fancy innards. Gawd, it's definitely better for my musical needs than the Cable Talk that I've had there for a long time now...

The TIS is now here if anyone here would like to try it, along with an SSC. I should have the BMU back here tomorrow too and it should be good to go soon after. All other stock is at NVA Towers but should be available at short notice if you ask me first please.
