The electric wok is a success. It heats up incredibly fast, and I made a very nice Kung Pao prawn dish with it (from scratch) last night. Next time, maybe I won't as many crushed Szechuan peppercorns and chopped, dried, Sichuan/Szechuan Chillies though.

So, did you heat up as quickly as the wok when you ate it then?

The new radio turned up today, instantly found the network, playing FM/DAB/Internet Radio quite happily. I haven't tried out Spotify or Amazon Music yet. I wouldn't want to listen to it as a main siource, but for background it's absolutely brilliant. Tested it with Radio Paradise, Classic FM, Jaxx FM, and a selection of internet-based blues stations. The "Undok" app, which I've used before, is simple, free, and fairly comprehensive, on Ipad and on Android tablet and phone. There's actually a new "version" of it now, named Oktiv, which I've yet to try.

A new addition to the studio workshop here in Potsdam. A Henri Hauser high precision milling machine that takes B8 collets (of which I have lots). It is not wired in yet as the motor is 3-phase and, although I have a 3-phase supply, I don't have an outlet nearby. I will use a Mitsubishi VFD for it which will add variable speed and soft start too. I have a spare one in the cellar and so hopefully in the morning it will be up and running.

Nice!
Not a toy, but I've installed an anti-theft tracker in my car, just across the battery terminals for now (interestingly, the instructions recommend this but surely it'll be the first place thieves will look). It works well, telling me on the accompanying app where it's been and where it's parked right now. It will also tell me if it moves while 'armed'.
I now need to find somewhere hidden with power from the battery to place it permanently.

I have a tracker integrated with the security system on my XJ6. I'm just having a small amount of work on the paintwork done as well as a bit of re-chroming and the car was moved on a low-loader from the people who do the servicing (near Guildford) to the paint shop near High Wycombe on Friday. I was able to follow its journey via the tracker! I can also issue a remote 'kill' command to activate the immobilisers and / or alarm.

Is there a button to remotely operate the ejector seat too, Pete?

Internal only or could it be good external ?

For screening or just add mass? Mass, and lots of it. I checked the largest 'sheet' which looks more like an ingot. I'll bet it's blooming heavy.

Internal only or could it be good external ? It could be used externally and I suspect it would be good. I don't fancy the cost or the shipping costs, though. Schramm weights cost a lot less.

Be good if someone had a big lump lying around locally

I don't think a 'big lump' of tungsten is going to be found lying around!
Do you know how hard tungsten is? You would have nothing that could cut it.
"tungsten carbide has a hardness of 9.5, only slightly lower than diamond"

I've just ordered the new 2nd gen Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K Max as it looks like a decent upgrade to my current 1st gen model. The new version has a faster 2.0 GHz quad-core processor, double the storage, and supports Wi-Fi 6E.
Part of the blurb also reads: "Turn your living space into an art gallery: the first-ever streaming stick with Fire TV Ambient Experience lets you display over 2,000 pieces of museum-quality art and photography." So, yes, wonderful, I'm going to leave my TV on all day using electricity instead of only turning it on when I want to watch a TV program, or a film. NOT! Possibly the most useless feature I've seen lately, taking today's economic climate into account. Still, they're a U.S. company I suppose, and maybe things are not quite so savage re electricity prices in The States.
