Have just finished reading through this thread (been on a sabbatical Chris) and I am delighted things have worked out for you bud. I've been in the same position myself in the past and it isn't pleasant. I ended up walking however, which ultimately led me down a completely different and more satisfying career path

Thanks for that Dave. It's been a difficult time but things are looking up.
Appreciate the concern.

Aye,thanks ChrisB. Got a crew change which is what I wanted and now have a crane op and a marine section leader working to help me rather than hinder me. The msl has had a run in with the guys I detest as well so knows it wasn't me. Still a lot of wasted time though but hey ho. Contract has been extended as well which is good news AND we are getting the winter off! Looks like we will finish up end of Sept and come back March. Superb!

When I had my return it turned out to be better for me and opened a door to more interesting and better rewarded work. Twas a miserable time though, my sister was dying of cancer and died before the return.
Hope you get the breaks too
