Worked out OK Martin. Got the change of crew I wanted and have ended up with a bit of extra time off so that's a boost!
Did a two week trip with one of the other crews and they asked to keep me so that kind of proved it wasn't me with the problem - the section leader saw that as well and every little helps. I was due back on the rig Thursday there but got downmanned(yes!) as bed space is required just now for completion stage. 5 days off a two week trip - boost!! All the guys were getting a good laugh as well at how out of touch the management are and they all got a giggle at my misfortune so all in all it's going alright!
I shall keep you updated as my time on the rig progresses.

If I was going down that path I'd just throw him overboard mate. If yer gonna get hung for stealing a sheep yer as well shaggin it. Interestingly (I use that word, knowing you all may find it as dull as a weekend Kardashian marathon on E Channel - and again, you all may go "what?" at that reference), there is a theory that the association of the Welsh and sheep shagging comes from the fact that the penalty for being caught stealing a sheep was significantly greater than for bestiality. When caught trying to steal a sheep, it made sense to drop one's trousers and claim it was a romantic encounter. I've tried to find a reliable source for this, but the best I can do is this: link to urban dictionary
i heard it somewhere recently and thought it was the QI podcast I listen to while driving to work, but can't find any reference to it. |
