I agree with what your saying, although I doubt they'll ever remove the risk of a freak accident like the one suffered by Jules. I just hope the governing bodies don't go overboard with trying to make a sport which in its nature is dangerous into something it's not, sometimes I believe that is part if the current problem with F1 these days.

Yes, I agree with that. Also I dislike the idea of canopies. It's an open-wheeled racecar, for goodness' sake!

Very sad news indeed. All it needs is any thing like that recovery digger going on track needs an armco skirt bolted to it all round. Peanuts to effect and the accident would just have been a fairly minor one I reckon.

Yep although the virtual safety car will make the most difference I'd suspect

Well that one rates as one of the most enjoyable F1 I've ever seen, with a real sense of combative racing throughout. The photographic coverage was great, with the helicopter tracking of particular note.
Those of you avoiding Eddie Jordan are missing out on the David Coulthard show though. His absent minded comments as he looked around for someone to interview on the line up had me laughing out loud. Not sure if it's intentional sarcasm or not: "well, ask Bernie for a few words - and that's exactly what you get" and " I don't know what that instrument is, kind of a piano (Hungarian Gypsy band) - we'll look forward to hearing THAT one later..." When Lewis' fortunes turned and a couple of mistakes culminated in a little bumpety with Ricardo he said something like "when things start to go wrong for Lewis, that's when the wheels fall off" - worthy of a Murryism.
I don't know about canopies, we may be getting a call for bumpers after that one!

I hope that is was just a bad day at the office for Lewis and not a result of his on/off behind the scene relationship with Rihanna. She is a very demanding heartbreaker, so I hope she isn't zapping his energy and sending him legless to the tracks.

If he were driving for McLaren, uncle Ron would have banned her:)

From what I can remember it was in the MacLaren garage when the two of them first met a couple of years ago.

If she is as good for him as she is an actress, she won't last long.

I actually think that they might make a good pairing. They both admire each achievement and are both temperamental.

Perfect for each other IMO. Both utterly repellant characters. I hope they wreck each other's careers and disappear without trace.

You're a fan then afraid id I still rather like Lewis, yes his latest performance had a lot to be desired but he still managed to overtake a few cars which is a lot better than the majority of the other drivers.

He still finished ahead of Rosberg.

He still finished ahead of Rosberg. Yeah guess he must have slipped Riccardo a few pennies before the race to achieve that

The thing about Hamilton is that you don't have to like him, just as I never liked Senna. I do greatly admire his race craft, his raw speed and his single mindedness, though.
As for actual driving style that I admire the most, it's Button's smooth but rapid delivery.

No prices for guessing who has already crashed his car this morning.
