I know it's very early days with the testing only on day two, but Vettel in the Ferrari is making a good start.

Thanks for starting this year's thread.
The Ferrari is a surprise, and so is the poor performance of the McLaren. I think Mercedes are heavily sandbagging their performance while their reliability seems excellent judging by the number of laps they've already completed.
I'd like to see a fair and clean fight between Alonso and Button, that could be the best team-mate wars this season.

My fear is that one or both of the Sauber drivers are likely to cause a major accident at some stage.

I'm thinking of starting a book on how soon Kimi publicly comments on what an annoying, jumped up little shit Vettel is....

You are going to have a hard time selling that book. For starters, you are attributing a lot more words to Kimi than he is ever known to have uttered in one go.

Ah, I see where the confusion lies - 'Book' - as in, 'Betting'

In that case I can't see Kimi uttering a word. Fins don't criticize Germans. It's like an unwritten gentleman's agreement.

I've just been looking at it. No information as yet whether it was a car or driver failure.

So, to summarise testing, Mercedes have been quietly going about their business and seem to have 0.5 - 1.0s performance advantage over everyone else as well as reliability. Then it's a bunfight between Williams, Ferrari and Red Bull. Adrian Newey has the hump because his aero design can't overcome the Renault engine issues. Alonso injured himself and no-one can yet say whether it was the car or him. Kimi versus Vettel is going to be less predictable than imagined. McLaren may or may not have a good car, no-one has yet been able to assess it as it keeps breaking down every 100m (I have to support them now that I bought a Honda, but my money's not looking safe). Marussia may come back as Manor but Caterham have gone and the Gene Haas team still doesn't look ready for next year.
Bring on Melbourne!

I can't reconcile the conflicting statements that he is "not injured" and "entirely healthy from neurological and cardiac perspectives alike" and yet should "limit activity that could result in another concussion".

depends on definition of injury , but as he is still healing it would be unwise to risk a second concussion . So the statements are not incompatible . When is a healing injury sufficiently progressed for you to describe yourself as not injured ?

Probably wise rather than plodding around at the back of the grid and risking a second concussion.
