you've got it wrong chris, just to be clear,i swapped the arm because it is no use to me,i already own 2 tonearms, zeta and alphason hr-100 both purchased long before the pioneer. i dont need 3 tonearms for 1 turntable, but i do need a decent head amp for my denon hence the swap. also my arm of choice is the zeta. lastly the denon did cost a fortune! lol

thanks for all the kind comments,im hoping this tt will do me for a long time! ant glad you got the tonearm ok. i have a very small itch at the moment to try a good quality jap arm, something like the pioneer pa-1000,as you can see the mounting distance for the zeta at 210.6 only just goes on the board.

i bought this a few weeks ago as i have always lusted over it since seeing a picture on the vintage knob site. www.thevintageknob.org/pioneer-PLC-590.html. after a 10 hr round trip to leeds she's mine! the speed is stable even off of quartz lock. it came with an audio technica AT-110 tonearm fitted, being low mass its not suitable for my denon 103sa so ive swapped it for a denon HA-500 head amp. the start button was missing so i sent another one from the turntable to speedy steve to be copied. he's done a great job, just waiting for it to arrive. in the meantime ive had to make a new tonearm board for my zeta to mount on.

as per title, have you got one for my new cartridge please? Just to point out the obvious, the Lentek is not a phonostage, it’s a headamp. It has no RIAA EQ correction and needs to be used with a MM phono input that does have this. yes i realized id made the mistake, well ive got one to try out,of coarse who knows? the mc stage in my nakamichi pre amp might just be fine.

here's some photo's after setting it up properly yesterday. there's no 'night and day' difference over the hr100 but then i new there wouldn't be,both highly regarded arms. the zeta feels and looks like its been very well engineered, solid looking stance and up for a fight! the bias setting is like a breath of fresh air compared to the hr100's string and weight method, the zeta uses a small dial to adjust bias, balancing the arm in the centre of the platter small increments anti or clockwise has the arm moving to the left or to the right, try doing that with the alphason! both arms handle the decca c4e,i have a gut feeling the zeta is better suited though being 5g heavier than the hr100. once the longer cartridge bolts arrive i'll stick the rock paddle back on,the extra weight moves the counter weight further outwards,i might make up some heavier counter weight plates in brass to bring it closer in. all in all im very happy with my purchase

funny you should mention max and the Dynavector,i was chatting to a guy (decca fan) who said if i wanted to get the decca sound then to try a Dynavector xx2. onced you've heard a good decca its very hard to go back to a conventional cartridge,my c4e made my 2m black sound very thin and weedy,i dislike the cadenza black as well because of the slam and drive of my decca
