it has a better motor i believe, think of it as a pl-71 on steroids. sonically it was much better than my 87 model lp12,if i didn't own a n elite rock 2 this wouldn't be for sale.

the original is made of plywood which i still have, the one in the photos is made of panzerholz and is drilled for a linn fitment tonearm,ie 211mm mounting distance. the panzerholz made a big difference to the sonics

They don't come much rarer than this! Produced in 1973 and Pioneers top of the range japan only model, costing at the time a whopping 83,000 yen (i'll let you do the price conversion). I would guess this is the only working one in the country. Veneered in Rio Rosewood which has taken on a lovely mellow colour this direct drive looks and sounds quality! The turntable is in extremely good condition and comes with original lid which has a large break to the side, its a clean break and will glue back fine,i didn't use it with the lid so it never bothered me. Being a japan only model it comes with an airlink step down transformer. It has recently been serviced and has been given a clean bill of heath. This is a very reluctant sale,i may change my mind. In an email converstion with hifido in japan the guy i spoke to said he'd worked there 30 yrs and never seen one! With that in mind the price is £800. All that fannying about just to clean an LP on the cheap, I have more precious things to do with my time thanks. There are plenty of made up RC fluids that do a good job. lol each to their own,i would rather know whats in my cleaner thanks, what should i do then? send them to you for a dunk in your ultrasonic machine? no thanks ive heard what they sound like after mate! for the record the results i got from the cleaner i made up yesterday are the best ive ever had,i cleaned 5 albums, all ended up very silent and sound much much better, ive used very good products in the past and this simple cleaner has them beat. now if thats fannying around then sweet as!
