I'm no more an engineer than you are Oliver, but maybe if Nick G or Dave C is reading, they could PM me and put me/us straight here. It takes specialist test equipment to accurately measure RIAA frequency response. More later.

most MC cartridges don't change much in performance from 100 ohms upwards. I have to disagree with that, I have altered loading on a ZYX R-100 and a Lyra Clavis and the flavour of the sound does change. Indeed, they can change in frequency response and dynamics, some for the better, others for the worse. YMMV but this is easily measurable and repeatable.

For the money is very good indeed. What more needs to be said? Is yours MM or MC Dave ?

It means he could have put it in as separate post like most people, or he could have replied to my PM.

OK, thanks. With so much said about them, at that price I thought I would see, on a no hurry basis. But if the loading and gain is wrong, then it won't sound right. The seller must know this as he was comparing it with others. I have PM'ed him too.
It's coming up to day and no response from the seller so far. My money is on the table.................

I am interested. Hence my question ? Do you have the instructions for changing gain and loading ?

I'd understood that as the res goes up it's vital to be close to the screen otherwise you waste the resolution. Maybe 10 feet is ok but 8 feet may be better. 10 feet and and a 75" TV is just fine. 8 feet and a 65" maybe, haven't tried that due to the size of my room.

Ok, having listened to it with a proper system, the first record sounds far better. Lost the plot now, which was the first ?

Me too, but what was the conclusion ? Should I buy the new set or try to get the original records.
The video sort of finished 3 minutes early ??

It's because of the sheer number of pixels. I set about 10 feet away and that is about right. YMMV

You have to set it up properly (most in shops are set to "retail" mode) and use "good" 4K sources and a very big screen. Oh, and go to a good private optician and buy a set of single prescription glasses set for the distance the TV is away from you, not Specsavers !!
If this sounds bizarre, I have to say I have not yet changed the fuses.

Go for the Panasonic with a 5 year warranty. But to render 4K at its best you need a 75". After a month you get used to the size.

So, after 20 minutes of telephone advice we tell a customer our opinion based on experience, it's about £450. An hour later the same man emails to say he can get it cheaper on the net and can we compete with a grey importer. We said no.
This happened two weeks ago, if he calls again what should we do ? He might even be reading this...........
