Not really. But close, it's more than simply demand.

Not headroom, but as I described above. A big V8 is like an oversized PSU. A small PSU with a low static and dynamic output impedance can be better. Just putting in a huge PSU is not the answer.

As Martin says, it's output impedance. Both for a continuous current draw and also for very short term instantaneous current draw. Depending on the design and purpose these two figures might differ hugely.

I have first hand experience of the Tesla S as my subcontractors are leasing a new one.
Firstly it is fast, very fast. It does handle as well as an AMG E63 and that's good enough for most people, the weight is very low giving a low center of gravity. The interior is not as good as an E Class. I think they are designed to be leased and insured with Tesla then there are no issues.

.
There is another option to get on the Technics SP-10R ladder. We almost give away a Timestep armboard, Jelco arm and AT33EV for £8.5K. It sits on the rack perfectly and sounds very good ! Add a plinth and better arm later ?

A reduction on the £14K ? Talk to me directly.

WOW! I'm still weighing up buying one and keeping my hot rodded 1210. Talk to me nicely, you never know ? Or come and have a listen ?

Reformatted it order of desirability YMMV ?

It's what I said above and illustrated; and by what the ordinary man in the street would perceive after having visited Munich !
You can't just reassign values and words

I feel what the posters are trying to get across the have a very decent sound for a far more realistic outlay,
Agreed, but then it would be called good value for money not High End. Otherwise what would you call High End ?

In my view it's performance at whatever cost. In the DAC world think the 4 box DCS at £66.7K, that is high end both technical, visually and audibly.
Too many items are called High End when they are clearly nowhere near.
Have you been to Munich John ?

I know I have said this before, but I have got several "local paper" front page stories using an iPhone and no one knew. But many more using a professional full frame DSLR with professional constant f/2.8 zoom.
Many professional photographers say and I agree, the best camera in the world is the one you have with you. YMMV

A good properly design power supply is not just a correctly spec'd Tx put the matching chain of components that it is attached to before it reaches it's finial destination imho Exactly, but often this is paired with a sup-par transformer !

Good designers always put in an overrated PSU, it dosen't cost much and it's generally good practice. The trick though is to put in a properly specified transformer, not "just" overrated.

A scope isn't accurate enough and a spectrum analyser only any good it it has 1dB division together with a stable sweep/tracking generator. But this is pointless thread drift.
